My name is Felix Bertelsmeier, Team Leader of the Automation Innovation Center, and I will be your manager. Based in Darmstadt, you will work closely with our R&D team and support the development of innovative automation solutions from the first concept to customer-ready products.

About the Job

As part of Atlas Copco’s global automation initiative, you will contribute to the development of innovative automation solutions for tightening applications. Working within an agile team, you will focus on testing, validating, and improving products related to automated tightening and screw feeding systems.

This role is ideal for a hands-on technician or engineer who enjoys building, testing, troubleshooting, and optimizing technical solutions in practice. If you are passionate about innovation and solving technical challenges, we would like to hear from you.

Your Mission

  • Plan, prepare, and execute prototype and system tests for automated tightening solution

  • Analyze, evaluate, and document test results

  • Identify issues and support product improvements together with development teams

  • Configure and maintain test equipment, including industrial robots, tightening controllers, and screw feeding systems

  • Assemble and adapt test stations in cooperation with mechanical and electrical design teams

  • Maintain, calibrate, and optimize laboratory equipment and demonstration systems

  • Provide technical support to internal project teams and customers, both remotely and on-site

  • Manage laboratory inventory and support procurement of required materials

What we expect from you  

  • Successfully completed technician or studies in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, or a comparable discipline
  • Hands-on mentality with a strong focus on execution and results
  • Distinct technical understanding and knowledge in automation technologies (PLC’s, Robots, etc.)
  • Work experience in an industrial environment
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Very good in English and German, speaking and writing
  • Confident handling of the common MS Office applications
  • Driving license class B

Job location

This role requires you to mainly work on-site at our office in Darmstadt, Germany with the possibility to work remotely according to our mobile office policies. You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.
