The role:

 

The Workshop Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, high-quality standards, and compliance with health and safety regulations. This role involves managing a team of technicians, scheduling work, maintaining equipment, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

 

Main responsibilities:

 

  • Operational Management:
    • Plan, organise, and supervise all workshop activities to meet customer deadlines  and service KPI.
    • Allocate resources effectively to maximise productivity and minimise downtime.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead, motivate, and develop workshop staff, ensuring training and performance standards are met.
    • Conduct regular team meetings and provide feedback to improve efficiency.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all work meets company standards and customer requirements.
  • Health & Safety Compliance:
    • Maintain a safe working environment in line with legal and company policies.
    • Conduct risk assessments and enforce safety protocols.
  • Inventory & Equipment Management:
    • Oversee ordering and maintenance of stock levels of parts and consumables.
    • Ensure all tools and machinery are maintained and calibrated.
  • Customer Service:
    • Liaise with clients to provide updates on work progress and resolve issues promptly.
    • Ensure timely delivery of services and maintain high customer satisfaction.

 

To succeed, you will need:

    • Proven experience in workshop management or a similar supervisory role.
    • Strong technical knowledge  preferred in Diesel Generators, Portable Air compressors, De-watering pumps, Lighting Towers, Battery Energy Storage Systems.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
    • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
    • Proficient in scheduling and workflow management systems.
    • Must work at a high level with Microsoft Office suite.
