Responsibilities
- Pipe Fitting Skills: Proficient working knowledge to maintain and install piping, tubing, and hose-type fluid and air transfer systems safely and effectively. Ability or familiarity with reading designs.
- Mechanical Fasteners: Proficient working knowledge, skills, and abilities required to properly identify and safely and effectively maintain and install various types of threaded fasteners and retaining rings. Knowledge of ASTM and SAE fastener grade markings, thread standards, torque requirements, and washer requirements.
- Hand Tools & Portable Power Tools: Proficient working knowledge, skills, and abilities to properly identify and safely and effectively use and maintain hand tools and portable power tools on a routine basis while performing maintenance tasks.
- Safety: Adhere to all workplace safety standards, including the proper use of PPE, safe handling of tools and equipment, and strict compliance with workshop safety protocols to maintain a hazard-free environment. Maintain up-to-date OSHA certifications.
- Mobile Equipment Operation: Certified or willing to become certified on-site to safely and effectively operate a forklift, man basket, and lull.
- Blueprint Reading: Capable of reading blueprints and translating designs into actual builds.
- Documentation: Regularly document work by taking photos, writing detailed records, and properly saving documentation to ensure accurate tracking of projects, equipment, and safety compliance.
- Independence: Ability to work with minimal supervision from project inception to completion while keeping supervisors informed of daily job status.
- Welding: Demonstrates basic skills and ability to weld stainless or carbon steel in both stick and TIG.
- Regularly clean and organize tools, equipment, and work areas throughout the shift.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school training preferred).
- 3-5 year of hands-on experience, mechanical or industrial maintenance preferred (welding, fabrication, or piping experience a plus).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and commitment to following all safety protocols.
- Comfortable using hand tools, portable power tools, and mobile equipment.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic both independently and collaboratively – punctual, reliable and accountable.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and documentation accuracy.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with colleagues and supervisors.
- Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing training and development.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50lbs as part of daily work in a workshop environment.
- Able to navigate mobile apps to clock in/out, manage work emails and stay connected with colleagues via Teams, Salesforce experience a plus.
