Mission
Your mission is to further develop the rental business in Mozambique and Angola to scale the revenues, fleet and people.
You will be required to uncover the full potential in various market segments for the assigned area in terms of rental products offered: Air, Nitrogen, Power, Flow and Temperature.
In order to achieve this mission, you will need to execute and further develop a full potential plan for your area and derive actions from it, creating a culture of continuous iteration and improvement. You will also work closely with other teams to align sales and marketing strategies with the broader objectives of the organization.
Part of your responsibilities will be to identify which sales and oprational roles are required to build a sustainable long term business within the region.
By successfully fulfilling this mission, the Business Development Manager will contribute to the Atlas Copco Specialty Sub Sahara Africa growth, profitability, and its reputation as a trusted partner in the compressor, generator, steam and pump rental industry in Sub Sahara Africa.
Job description
a. Main Objectives
• Sales Leadership: Establish and lead a team of sales people, providing guidance, coaching, and support to achieve sales targets.
• Business Development: Identify and target potential clients, develop strategies for market penetration, and expand our customer base in the designated area.
• Ensure that our employees are given the opportunity and encouragement to reach their full potential.
• Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions to make informed decisions and adapt sales strategies accordingly.
• Sales Strategy: Assist Sales Manager and management team in developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies in line with Divisional Strategy to achieve or exceed revenue and profit targets.
• Forecasting and Reporting: Generate regular sales forecasts, reports, and performance metrics to monitor progress and make data-driven decisions.
• Customer Service: Ensure exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries, issues, and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Product Knowledge: Maintain in-depth knowledge of our rental equipment and business models, providing technical expertise when necessary.
• Nurture a culture of collaboration, transparency, speed and continuous improvement.
• Further develop and execute your full potential plan in line with the group training.
• Ensure all new business plans will function within the changes brought about by the SPARK project
b. Key Responsibilities
• Localization and communication of the regional vision to the local team, in a clear and inspiring way.
• Action priority setting and execution, in line with the vision.
• Management of growth (organic and inorganic), operations and finance in line with the agreed regional targets

• Development of a top talent pipeline to ensure sustainability of the region's performance
c. Expected Activities
- Ensure Revenue targets are monitored closely and is consistently updated to achieve company targets in line with the Africa expansion project and Full potential plan
- Define and execute key target battles to achieve growth both in top and bottom line
- Develop a sales and operational team in line with specific inflicion points outlined by the regional strategy
- Develop and coach the Sales team on the entire Sales Process once the team has been established
- Perform on the job product and application training with the sales reps
- Ensure the teams sales calls are effective according to the criteria and achieving call ratio and entered into the Salesforce Database by Close of business every Friday.
- Attend customer visits with sales reps to assist in closing deals and handling customer objections
- Request training for any products or application knowledge where lacking.
- Report to sales manager on a monthly basis on the different areas progress on the long and short term rental.
- Sell for profit and minimize discounts according to Prokura Policy.
- Always be aware of competitor’s activity and include in monthly reporting.

General (Marketing & Sales)
- Minimum 5 years experience in Business Development.
- Extensive knowledge of the Oil and Gas market segment.
- Experience with management of a sales team.
- Experience in the specialty rental business / industry is a plus.
- Some previous international business development experience is a plus.
Knowledge/ Skills
• Strong proven leadership skills with ability to manage a team
• Strong verbal/written communication and facilitation skills
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills
• Technical know-how on compressors and generators. Knowledge on Steam,chillers and dewatering solutiions will be beneficial

• Experience with Challenger Sales Concepts
Educational Requirements
Bachelor in Business / Engineering or similar by experience.
Language
Fluent in Portuguese and English
