Mission/Purpose of the Job
Ensure that the Planning team act as a conduit for customer communications and updates, including sales and operations planning meetings. Promoting clear communication within the Eastbourne site and outwardly facing to our external customers
Ensure all planning tools are inline with latest technology and industry standards.
To lead the team of planners to plan the factory output of orders and maintain planning tools that are fit for purpose. Be a SAP specialist and super user on planning for site, overseeing specific site improvement projects as required and appropriate.
Main responsibilities
- Prepare the S&OP response giving options to respond to fluctuating demand in a quantitative data driven manner
- Champion and develop internal KPI monitoring systems
- Interface with the customer centres on commitment and forecast delivery data for customer deliveries of production and spares
- Provide weekly status reports and KPIs showing operational adherence to plan, efficiency and operational metrics via best practice tools
- Owner of developing the process of effective planning tools & reports
- Responsible for line managing a team of planners, ensuring all people processes are carried out in a timely fashion including: goal setting, 121 meetings, end-of-year, holidays, sickness, performance management, identifying and supporting development needs for all reports.
- Working with the Factory Planners, Logistics, Finance Controller and Materials Manager to manage the policies & process for inventory management
- Support continuous improvement of OTD throughout the product company organisation through regular analysis of performance and failure analysis
- Provide management information / support on material availability to the business and develop improvement plans and measures to capture improvement activities
- Planning data cleansing (i.e., review planning parameters, review all MADs, constraints)
- Responsible for ensuring our master planning tool is fit for purpose to translate sales and operations planning data and ensuring that data inputs are quantifiable as opposed to qualitative
- To be the site Champion and SME in the use of PBI reporting, Kinaxis and SAP.
- Champion the use of SAP ERP data and report from this repository via Power BI. Suggest and receive feedback from the team to develop such reports.
- Owner of SAP and Kinaxis data integrity and cleansing once released from the NPI team
- Any other analytical tasks prescribed by management

To succeed, you will need:
Essential
- Strong factory planning skills
- Must be a good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English.
- Good interpersonal and team working skills
- Organisational awareness, impact and influencing skills
- Assertive, diplomatic with a good appreciation of business and commercial issues.
- Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Business, Maths or equivalent experience
- Material management or operational knowledge
- Demonstrable experience in strategic involvement where individual judgement would have a direct bearing on company performance.
- Strong data analysis essential and ERP (SAP) subject matter expert is a necessity
- Computer literate, specifically: MS Office, ERP (SAP) systems, Sql database, Power BI.
- Evidence of an analytical approach using qualitative and quantitative tools and techniques
Desirable
- Experience of working internationally an advantage
- Knowledge of Vacuum pumps and electronics
- Experience of LEAN or equivalent methodology an advantage
- Familiarity with the principles of scheduling and production management, its implementation and support.

- The role is based on site in Eastbourne, East Sussex, UK.
- The Eastbourne Product Company potentially serves all five Vacuum Technique Divisions: Scientific Vacuum, Industrial vacuum, Semicon, Semicon Service, Vacuum Technique Service.
- The role requires very close interaction with all teams, including NPI, Procurement, Engineering, Planning, Material Management and external equivalents
