Your role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Manager to join the Edwards team based at Product Company Eastbourne.

 

As a Quality Manager, your mission is to to manage customer and business partner expectation on the resolution of product quality issues and to support Eastbourne PC to achieve its business objectives as outlined in the site OGSM.

 

You will:

  • Ensure that the Eastbourne PC’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
  • To be the subject matter expert on the practical application of quality processes within the product company
  • Lead and support the quality team, managing the teamwork flow, develop engagement and support from other parts of the business and internal teams.
  • Coordinate the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and NCR’s raised ensuring that the 8D process is consistently followed and associated CSL KPI’s are met and relevant stakeholders are informed, support product recalls where necessary.
  • Review internal quality and support the resolution of issues and improvement of production processes to ensure Eastbourne PC to achieves its business objectives as outlined in the site OGSM.
  • Support identification of opportunities for the continual improvement of the key quality processes on site and make improvements as appropriate.
  • Lead on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
  • Manage the monitoring, measurement, review and auditing of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the Eastbourne PC’s products and implement effective strategies to overcome issues found in collaboration with relevant teams.
  • Overall responsibility for accuracy and timely calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
  • Quality team people management including PPDR, 1:1’s, recruitment etc.
  • Conduct periodic management review meetings.
  • Support the effort of combining activities across SHE, Quality and Facilities to realise the benefits of a SHEQ methodology.
  • Continually develop and lead regular ‘PQM’ meetings to report on company quality performance to a wider group of stakeholders

To succeed, you will need

  • Must be a good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English.
  • 5 years’ experience of leading/managing a quality function preferred.
  • Experience of building and maintaining a high performing team.
  • Membership of professional body Chartered Quality Institute is preferred.
  • Report writing and presentation skills.
  • Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills, organisational awareness and impact and influencing skills area prerequisite.
  • Self-starter, effective time manager and effective line manager.
  • Assertive, diplomatic with a good appreciation of business and commercial issues.
  • Experience in creating Power BI reports a distinct advantage.
  • Able to manage complex improvement projects.
  • Able to interpret complex information and make decisions based upon findings.
  • High levels of self-motivation with the ability to see projects and tasks through to completion.

This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Eastbourne, United Kingdom (GB). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.

 

The Eastbourne Product Company serves all six Vacuum Technique Divisions: Scientific Vacuum, Industrial Vacuum, Semiconductor, Semiconductor Service, Semiconductor Chamber Solutions, Vacuum Technique Service. There may be some need to travel to UK & European locations, and maybe very occasionally to Asia or US locations, e.g. to other Vacuum Technique sites, key suppliers and customers.

 

The role requires close interaction with the Eastbourne leadership team and section leaders Production Managers, Team leaders, Laboratory and Functional Managers as well as with peers at other Product Companies.
