Senior Electronics Engineer

Your role
As a Senior Electronics Engineer, your mission is to contribute to the design, development, and validation of electronic systems and components for complex products, ensuring performance, reliability, and manufacturability. The role supports both new product development and continuous improvement of existing designs. Ensure that all assigned site-based projects deliver the specified outcomes within agreed timelines and financial parameters. . You will report to [add Hiring Manager title].
You will
- Maintain awareness of product roadmaps and priorities in the Vacuum Technique Division, as well as New Product Introduction (NPI) developments and their impact on component selection. Also, awareness of industry trends for component availability and lead times.
- Lead the design and development of electronic hardware for new and existing products.
- Manage the selection of electronic components, ensuring compliance with reliability, cost, and lead-time requirements for volume manufacturing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical design, software, manufacturing and supply chain.
- Provide feedback on the suitability of new components for new designs and provide alternative recommendations if needed. Also, to ensure the Silicon Expert tool is maintained with the latest BOMs.
- Support prototype builds, testing and validation activities.
- Conduct design reviews, risk assessments and failure analysis (i.e. DfM, DFMEA, FMEA, root cause analysis).
- Ensure designs meet relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and customers as needed, including occasional travel to other sites.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.

- Bachelor or Masters degree (or equivalent) in Electrical and/or Electronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Must be a good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English. Ability to make decisions based on a knowledge of the business and an understanding of the impact.
- Proven experience in electronic circuit design (analogue and digital)
- Proficiency in schematic capture and PCB layout tools (ie. Altium, OrCAD)
- Some experience working in a global engineering and multi-disciplinary design environment.
- Experience working in a regulated compliance-driven industry as well as a strong understanding of the electronics distributor markets.
- Experience in a rgulated or high reliability industry (ie eurospace, medical, vacuum systems).
- Good understanding of the product development processes. Experience working with tools such as SAP and Silicon Expert would be an advantage.
