Your role

This is a temporary 12 month role. As a Supplier Quality Engineer, your mission is to support the Supplier Quality Engineering function, develop currect production suppliers in line with the continuous quality improvement program and ensure qualification (viaPPAP) of products and/or new suppliers (via Approved Supplier List) to meet company quality expectations. You will report to [add Hiring Manager title].

You will

  • Contribute to drive supplier quality development process improvement and continuous quality improvement in line with agreed KPI's and goals using available processes and procedures. 
  • Analyse and evaluate supplier quality data, quality performance, implementation and validation of corrective action plans and preventative measures.
  • Attends daily SIM2 meetings, ensures valid external scrap is signed off and information is sent to suppliers
  • Leads and performs regular quality reviews with nominated suppliers, providing results/feedback vs targets and expectations.
  • Obtains supplier agreement and approval of Edwards Supplier Quality manual from suppliers.
  • Ensures that costs for incoming inspection will be charged to supplier in case of repeated non-conforming deliveries.
  • Requests, reviews and signs off 8D improvement process with suppliers.
  • Focuses on resolving customer complains using the NEXUS (Failure Reporting and Corrective Actions) systems
  • Leads supplier quality audits and ESH/Business Continuity audits in accordance with agreed upon annual audit plan.
  • Raises supplier corrective action plans where reqyured and regularly monitors with supplier 
  • Is involved in SESPA audits for selection of new suppliers

  • Excellelent negotiation skills, strong knowledge of supplier performance management and improvement processes required
  • Must be target driven, possess good basic organisational and presentation skills
  • Must have strong numeracy skills
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in supplier quality management preferred but not essential
  • 6 sigma qualification preferred but not essential
  • Experience of APQP/PAPP process required
