A.I. & Process Optimization Intern

Your role
The AI & Process Optimization Intern helps accelerate digital transformation by identifying efficiency opportunities, reducing administrative burden, and enabling employees to work smarter through practical applications of AI. This role blends process analysis, creative problem‑solving, and hands‑on experimentation with AI tools—including Microsoft Copilot, internal chatbots, and low‑code automation—to deliver both quick wins and scalable long‑term improvements across the organization.
Location: Export, PA 15632
Wage: $21 per hour
In-Office: M-F 8AM - 5PM EST
This internship will run from June 8, 2026 to August 15, 2026
Main Responsibilities:
Identify Efficiency Opportunities Across the Business
- Analyze operational, service, sales, and administrative workflows to identify manual, repetitive, or high‑friction steps.
- Map and assess processes, classifying opportunities into quick wins and future-state improvements.
- Collaborate with teams to validate challenges and propose AI‑enabled solutions.
AI‑Powered Solutions & Internal Chatbots
- Assist in designing, testing, and refining internal AI chatbots used across HR, IT, Operations, Finance, and other departments.
- Build and update conversational flows, knowledge bases, and automation triggers.
- Explore potential use cases for customer‑facing bots to improve service efficiency.
Copilot for Productivity & Workflow Enhancement
- Use Microsoft Copilot to streamline document creation, reporting, email drafting, and data analysis.
- Develop reusable prompts, templates, and best‑practice guides to support efficient Copilot adoption.
- Conduct small-scale trials to test new Copilot use cases for various teams.
Build and Maintain an Internal “AI One‑Stop Shop”
- Develop a centralized digital hub with AI resources, FAQs, guides, templates, and training content.
- Standardize AI documentation and maintain current, accurate material as tools evolve.
AI Training, Support & Enablement
- Provide hands‑on assistance to employees learning AI tools.
- Host micro‑trainings, demos, or office hours to introduce new use cases.
- Translate business needs into simple, accessible AI applications for non‑technical users.
Process Automation & Low‑Code Projects
- Identify processes suitable for automation using Power Automate or similar platforms.
- Help build and test basic automations that reduce manual effort.
- Support rollout and change‑management efforts as teams adopt new digital processes.
Additional Digital Transformation Contributions
- Support cross‑functional digital initiatives related to data, systems, and workflow optimization.
Document findings, insights, and recommendations to inform broader AI strategy.
To succeed, you will need
Education Level
- Must be a Junior or Senior pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field at an accredited college or university.
Relevant Previous Experience
- No prior experience required; experience with AI tools or automation platforms is a plus.
Knowledge Areas / Skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
- Strong interest in AI, automation, and digital tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Self‑motivated, independent, flexible, and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Results‑driven with the ability to accept accountability.
- Team‑oriented and comfortable supporting employees across departments.
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑evolving digital environment.
Other Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for the duration of the internship.
