Your role
As a Sales Engineer, your mission is to drive profitable growth by positioning Atlas Copco’s portable air solutions as the customers’ First in Mind, First in Choice. Deliver the right technical solution for demanding applications, ensuring long‑term value, stronger customer relationships, and improved productivity, reliability, and efficiency in tough environments. You will report to Portable Air Business Line Manager.

Drive profitable and sustainable growth by promoting and selling Atlas Copco’s portable air solutions for demanding and heavy‑duty applications in Construction, Water Well & Mining Drilling, Mining Operations, Oil & Gas, Offshore, and other harsh environments with corrosion, dust and humidity exposure.

Identify, assess, and understand customer needs across rugged applications, recommending the appropriate compressor type (diesel or electric), capacity, pressure, configuration, and accessories to ensure optimal reliability, productivity, and efficiency.

Develop and manage the sales pipeline within the assigned region — West of Mexico (mainly Jalisco, Querétaro, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí) — executing field visits, prospecting, opportunity qualification, demonstrations, proposals, negotiations, and deal closing.

Strengthen customer relationships by providing technical guidance, supporting field evaluations, ensuring product suitability for severe operating conditions, and delivering a high‑quality customer experience aligned with Atlas Copco standards.

Represent Atlas Copco’s brand values, ensuring solutions are positioned as the customer’s First in Mind – First in Choice® through consistent follow‑up, market intelligence gathering, competitor monitoring, and collaboration with service and product specialists.

You have +5 years of experience, working as a Field Sales Engieer

Strong commercial experience, with the ability to clearly communicate product value, differentiate solutions, handle objections, and influence customer decisions in capital equipment sales.

Ability to identify customer needs and pain points, conducting effective discovery conversations and translating operational challenges into sales opportunities and tailored solutions.

Consultative selling and value‑based negotiation skills, capable of developing competitive proposals, presenting clear ROI arguments, and driving deals from qualification to closure.

Proven track record (5+ years) in technical sales, managing the entire sales process — proactive prospecting, pipeline development, product demonstrations, commercial proposals, negotiation, and consistent closing of opportunities.

High autonomy, discipline and communication skills, able to build strong customer relationships at multiple levels while maintaining availability for field visits and travel to accelerate sales execution.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, Mechatronics) or related field.
- English level B2 (Upper intermediate)

This role requires you to work hybrid at our office in Guadalajara and in the field with our clients. You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration, as well as out with our clients.
