Field Sales Engineer - Service and Equipment - Atlantic Canada

As a Account Manager, your mission is to drive Medical Gas equipment and service contract sales growth for our business by leveraging your technical expertise and understanding of customer needs. You will be an integral partner for healthcare industry clients advocating for life sustaining solutions by overseeing projects through design, estimation, and implementation. You will enhance customer value by optimizing and diversifying current customer offerings and cultivating new business by promoting Class 1 Inc. products, services, and solutions while acheiving sales revenue for the Atlantic Canada region. You will report to the VP & Business Line Manager and work closely with the engineering and service teams to ensure the successful implementation of sales strategies.

Your day-to-day

  • Engage in face-to-face and remote sales to new customers, as well as cross, up, and repeat sales to existing customers.
  • Analyze territory trends and market data to inform sales strategy.
  • Generate new opportunities/sales using current and established customer, supplier, regulatory, and construction associations.
  • Follow-up on leads and referrals resulting from field activity.
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals, pricing, and credit terms to customers using internal quoting tools for both equipment and service contract sales.
  • Develop and maintain reports and dashboards for KPIs and end-to-end sales process including lead activity, opportunity (funnel) management, order forecasts, quote disposition, and quota performance for assigned territory.
  • Coordinate construction scheduling and release information with customer.
  • Work with internal project management and service teams to direct processing, scheduling, and coordination of orders.
  • Review, analyze, and thoroughly understand all plans and specifications in order to verify project requirements, suitability, and compliance with applicable codes.
  • Review and provide take-offs, material lists, and quotations and proposal preparation assigned by manager.
  • Promote turn-key customer solutions, increase revenues, and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Assess customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and/or solutions.
  • Deliver sales presentations and conduct product demonstrations, attend and participate in trade shows and industry functions to generate sales and cultivate customer relationships.
  • Develop medium-to-long-term sales plans and prepare strategies to protect, grow, and diversify relationships with your targeted customers.
  • Ensure successful implementation of sales strategies by leveraging your technical expertise and understanding of customer needs.

Your skills and experience

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industrial equipment and service sales with demonstrated success in developing new business and territories.
  • Post secondary education preferably in engineering or technical field of study with business, sales, or customer service experience. Alternatively, post secondary education in business with technical sales experience in healthcare, medical and/or laboratory gas, and/or construction industry.
  • Highly effective communicator with ability to collaborate and commit to build trust and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of CSA Z7396.1 and medical gas pipeline and source equipment considered an asset
  • Excellent estimation skills and experience preparing formal commercial proposals
  • Able to read and understand construction specifications and blueprints
  • Bilingual in English and French (written and oral) considered an asset

Your compensation and benefits

Compensation for this position consists of base salary range of $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 plus monthly commissions. Class 1 Inc. also offers comprehensive benefits including:

Your location

This role is fully remote to cover a sales terriroty of Atlantic Canada with a strong focus on current customer base of Halifax, Nova Scotia and employed through our legal entity in Cambridge, Ontario. Other locations may be possible to review.
