We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality Coordinator to join our team. The SHEQ Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with developing, implementing, and sustaining the safety, health, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe and healthy work environment. conducting inspections, audits, training employees, and managing documentation related to SHEQ activities.

 

Main Responsibilties

 

  • Implement SHEQ policies and RCE’s to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify hazards, non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs for employees at all levels, including new hire orientation, refresher courses, and specialized training as needed.
  • Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence and ensure continual improvement.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to SHEQ activities, including incident reports, training records, waste management, and regulatory permits.
  • Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of SHEQ programs and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate SHEQ considerations into daily operations, emphasizing continuous improvement and best practices.
  • Serve as the secondary point of contact for regulatory agencies, auditors, and other external stakeholders regarding environmental, health, and safety matters.
  • Facilitate open communication channels to promote employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives.
  • Organize information sharing events, provide material for weekly, monthly, and quarterly recurring safety meetings on site to raise safety awareness, maintain consistent messaging and encourage a positive, pro-active safety culture.
  • Oversee chemical inventory database to ensure that the site adequately track Safety Data Sheets (SDSs).
  • Collaborating with Site management and human resources to ensure effective communication and coordination of safety initiatives, candidate onboarding.

To succeed, you will need

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in safety, preferably in a multi-location setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards, and best practices applicable to the industry, .
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software/tools.
