Business Development Manager

As a Business Development Manager, your mission is to drive sales growth and market penetration of StraightFlo™ valves in the United States and Canada, focusing on oil refineries and chemical plants. This role requires a strategic, hunter-oriented individual contributor who can identify new opportunities, build strong customer relationships, and deliver measurable business impact. The position supports the company’s objectives for revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and market expansion while ensuring alignment with corporate sales and marketing strategies You will report to the General Manager.

 

 Essential Job Functions

  • Monitor and analyze the reciprocating compression market in the up/midstream Oil & Gas sector to identify new business opportunities and develop sales strategies.
  • Create and execute sales and marketing plans to evaluate the Total Addressable Market and increase the StraightFlo™ footprint.
  • Engage with customers at all organizational levels, from site-level operations to corporate leadership, to communicate value propositions and secure sales.
  • Collaborate with other StraightFlo™ Regional Sales Managers to coordinate market coverage and maximize up/midstream sales potential.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives including case studies, brochures, tradeshows, and promotional campaigns.
  • Develop and present business cases to customers, demonstrating the economic benefits of StraightFlo™ products for their applications.
  • Collect technical inputs from customers to support quotations, performance simulations, application engineering, and manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of commercial documents such as quotations, terms and conditions, and contracts.
  • Provide support to customers for training, troubleshooting, and field issues in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Establish and nurture strong customer relationships to grow the sales pipeline and convert opportunities into orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of opportunities, quotes, and orders in the CRM system.
  • Provide monthly order bookings forecasts to management.

Adhere to StraightFlo™ and customer safety protocols while visiting customer sites and plants

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant sales experience, preferably in gas compression within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proven track record in prospecting, developing, and managing sales opportunities.
  • Strong consultative and value-selling skills across all levels of customer organizations.
  • Established end-user contacts in the up/midstream gas compression market.
  • Self-starter with entrepreneurial mindset, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player with a “Can-Do” attitude and sense of urgency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, highly organized, able to multitask.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM tools.
  • Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%).
  • Ability to occasionally lift loads up to 35 lbs and work safely in industrial environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business.
    • Familiarity with reciprocating compressors and rotating equipment.
    • Experience with project management and business case development.
    • Knowledge of ESG and financial impact analysis in industrial applications.
