Service Manager

Your role
PPS Ltd, part of Atlas Copco, has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, reliable service to customers across its region. As our service operations continue to evolve and grow, we are looking for a driven and forward-thinking Service Manager to lead and develop our field service team.
- Lead and develop a high-performing regional service team to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality engineering standards, resulting in improved team capability, motivation, and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure the efficient and safe deployment of field service engineers through effective coordination and planning, resulting in timely completion of service activities and minimal downtime for customers.
- Drive operational excellence and compliance by promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring all health, safety, and quality regulations are met, contributing to a safe and compliant working environment.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty by acting as the main point of contact for key regional customers, ensuring service expectations are met or exceeded and fostering long-term relationships.
- Improve business performance and profitability by monitoring key performance indicators and cost controls, using data-driven insights to optimise resource utilisation and operational efficiency.
- Maximise service-related sales opportunities by identifying customer needs through field intelligence, leading to increased uptake of parts, services, and extended service agreements.
- Support cross-functional collaboration by working closely with sales, marketing, and technical teams, resulting in a cohesive approach to customer engagement and business development.
- Maintain accurate and timely customer and operational data within the CRM and reporting systems, ensuring reliable insights for decision-making and strategic planning.

- HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related technical discipline is essential.
- A higher-level qualification (e.g. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering) is desirable.
- Minimum of 3–5 years in a technical field service, engineering management, or operational leadership role within the industrial equipment, compressed air, or rotating machinery sectors.
- Proven experience managing field-based engineering teams and delivering customer-focused service solutions.
- Strong understanding of compressed air systems or related industrial equipment (e.g. rotating machinery, mechanical/electrical servicing).
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to undertake occasional national travel and overnight stays as required.
