Field Service Engineer (Hungary)
Your role...
In this mission, you are the face to our customers. You will help to manage our growth in our service business by delivering excellent work, strong customer commitment and engagement. You ensure that the customer’s expectations are met every time. You consult the customers and provide timely service support for technical problems, monitoring, testing and demonstrations either on site or remotely trough high tech tools. This has a positive effect in minimizing downtime, reducing costs, or promoting our product capabilities in the case of a test or demo.
- Being responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing parts and equipment at customer site and remotely.
- To carry out high-level commissioning jobs at customers sites and an understanding of P&ID's.
- Run and manage regular check-ins or health-checks on pumps on site or remotely through Industry 4.0 monitoring tools with a resolution of any alerts.
- Conduct regular maintenance works on pumps at site.
- Issue accurate and detailed service reports to customers, and internal stakeholders.
- In case needed, support in warranty claims, reports and manage customer complaints.
- Ensure an excellent internal communication and network to share lessons learned with other field service colleagues.
- Providing technical support in the form of troubleshooting either by phone, email, Teams or on site.
- Provide training for distributors and customers on all relevant features and benefits of using our products and consumables.
- Actively communicate service and other relevant activities to Customer and Vacuum Technique Service Operations Manager.
- Spot and hunt for Service and Equipment sales opportunities and generate leads for the Sales teams.
- Pro-actively strive for continuous process improvement and personal development.
- Log customer enquiries in the appropriate system.
- Advise customer care on straight forward technical matters to allow them to pursue enquiries without further assistance.
- Provide written technical documentation in support of the quotation process, especially focus on providing part numbers to CVC where Coordinators cannot identify right part. Engage with other Edwards technical authorities when necessary (Product & Application Managers, Technical Engineers).
- Support the customer base with technical information about range of products and Edwards services.
- Pursue more complex matters (work with parts manuals, technical drawings and SOPs) by taking ownership for the technical enquiry.
- Cooperate with the Customer Centre Sales & Service team to understand market requirements and developments

• Passion for working in a Scientific/Technical environment
• Demonstrable experience in a field serive and/or technical support role
• Experience in Vacuum or similar would be an advantage
• Experience in presenting training to internal and external customers
• Self-starter who will take ownership of understanding and meeting the customer’s needs
• Pro-active and able to work independently while reporting remotely to the Operations Manager
• Regular travel to customer sites and workshops / offices within the region (Eastern & Southern Europe; Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, ...)
• Very good knowledge of MS Office, comfortable using SAP platforms with desire and aptitude to learn new systems
• Excellent communication skills
• Fluency in English is essential. Additional knowledge of any of the local language(s) is an asset.
• A valid driver‘s license
