IP Analyst

Your role
- Responsible for identification, and protection of different forms of Intellectual Properties created by the product companies of different business areas.
- Support the product companies in conducting, advising, and providing opinions on Patent analytics matters including Novelty/Patentability search, Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) studies/Infringement analysis/ clearance analysis, Validity/Invalidity search, State-of-the-art search, Prior art search, Non-Patent Literatures search, Technology/Patent landscape/White-space analysis.
- Responsible for monitoring and analyzing competitors' intellectual property activities to identify potential threats and opportunities as part of patent watch activities.
- Hands on experience of working with Patent databases & Patent searching tools (like Questel Orbit, Minesoft Patbase, Derwent Patent Search and Espacenet etc), Should be capable of bringing project execution at speed.
- Collaborate with different IP teams within the Atlas Copco Group to executing required IP related matters.
- Provide Intellectual Property (IP) awareness training and educational materials within the organization.
To succeed, you will need
Experience requirements:
- 2 to 3 years of prior experience and capability of independently handling Patent search & analytics projects including Prior art searches, IP Risk mitigation analysis, FTO & Invalidity searches, IP & Technology Landscapes, and competitor watch.
- Draft Provisional/Non-Provisional Patent applications are a plus.
- Draft responses to the First Examination Report (FER) are a plus.
- Good understanding of the appropriate IP laws.
- Excellent command of MS Office tools.
Educational requirements:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably but not necessarily Mechanical Engineering), physics or equal by experience.
- Additional qualifications or certification related to Intellectual Property is an added advantage.
- Qualified Indian patent is a Plus.

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our Atlas Copco, GECIA office in Pune.
