Distribution Sales Manager

Your role
As a Distribution Sales Manager, your mission is to drive sustainable growth of Atlas Copco General Industry products in Southern Africa by expanding and empowering distribution channels, engaging end users, and delivering superior customer value. You will report to the Industrial Technique Business Area General Manager.
You will :
• Drive the sales of all Atlas Copco General Industry (GIN) products through distribution partners, covering Southern Africa (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe).
• Grow the existing distribution channel and develop new distribution channels across the allocated territory.
• Appoint, develop, and monitor progress of distribution partners.
• Engage with End Users of the products in a manner that makes them prefer Atlas Copco solutions.
• Realize in cooperation with distributors/partners, the whole sales cycle necessary to obtain the orders/purchase contract (identify opportunity, present proposal, demonstrate value, negotiate, and close the deal).
• Participate in seminars, exhibitions, and other marketing activities.
• Establish, develop and maintain relationships with distributors/partners through daily visits, telephone calls and all forms of correspondence.
• Manage sales funnel opportunities and complete the information in Salesforce (visits, proposals, orders, etc.).
• Implement the area strategic growth plan, to grow our market share, focusing on specific customers and market segments of the various application types in the area.
• Understand the sales cycle and drive the sales cycle from start to finish with the distribution or individually.
• Provide customer/technical support.
• Deliver product and sales training to distributors.
• Conduct product demonstrations at customers, independently or in collaboration with the distribution sales team.
• Manage time effectively and remain self-motivated.
• Travel regularly throughout the region.

• University Degree in Mechanical, Electronic or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Fluency in English.
• Great organizational, planning and following-up skills.
• Minimum experience of 5 years in industrial sales working with distribution and channel partners.
• Good knowledge of general industry markets and how they function and operate.
• Experience of assembly tools and fastening would be an advantage.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Experience working with CRM tools.
