Sales Engineer - General Industry

Your role
As a Sales Engineer - General Industry, your mission is to drive sustainable growth and market leadership across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa by delivering innovative sales solutions, strengthening customer relationships, and expanding strategic market presence in the Industrial Segment. You will report to the General Manager of Industrial Technique Business Area.
You will :
• Execute sales strategy and market penetration within rail and automation requirements of other segments in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Understanding of each of the market segments operations is a requirement.
• Achieve/exceed the annual sales target allocated for South Africa and specific countries within Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Drive strategic market development for all sales channels, to increase market share and profitability throughout the Energy Segment.
• Appoint, develop, and monitor progress of distribution partners.
• Realize (directly or in cooperation with partners) the whole sales process necessary to obtain the order. i.e., identify the opportunity, present proposal, demonstrate value, negotiate, and close the deal.
• Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with customers through communication channels and visits, telephone calls and digital channels.
• Make daily use of our CRM system for customer data, visits, comments, quotes etc.
• Participate in seminars, exhibitions, and other marketing activities.
• Ensure optimal and efficient territory coverage.
• Coach and train distribution partners.
• Contribute to the development of business plans and sales strategy to achieve targets.

• University Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Fluency in English.
• Good organizational, planning and following-up skills.
• Minimum experience of 5 years in industrial sales, Energy Segment experience is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of General Industry markets.
• Experience of assembly tools and fastening would be an advantage.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
• Experience working with CRM tools.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Passion for sales, dynamic and results orientated.
• Must be able to understand big picture thinking.
• Effective communication skills.
• Team player.
• Flexibility.
• Strong customer and quality focus, with the ability to keep commitments, seek feedback and continuously drive customer satisfaction.

Job location
This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Jet Park, Boksburg, South Africa (ZA). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration.
