Project Engineer
Your role
You will:
• Support demonstrations, assist sales engineers with their requests, and facilitate the installation of solutions.
• Act as the main contact for the customer until project delivery and continue as the commercial contact until project acceptance by the customer.
• Ensure timely implementation by coordinating buy-outs, the service team, and sub-contractors.
• Manage schedules and coordinate related functions to guarantee on-time purchasing and production, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Provide scope management, maintain the internal order book, and assist with internal SAP planning.
• Oversee schedule management, reflected in SAP, BOM, and document progress, coordinating other functions to ensure timely purchasing and production for on-time delivery.
• Monitor customer payment follow-up in collaboration with Finance and Sales, ensuring timely escalation when necessary.
• Maintain coordination between phases of execution when needed, including handovers from sales to engineering, from engineering to purchasing/core assembly/packaging, and to aftermarket.
• Lead coordination with other GAP entities regarding the core delivery schedule.
• Complete other tasks as assigned by the Project Manager.
To succeed, you will need
• Proven track record of successful project management (technical and commercial) with both local and international customers.
• Experience in customer discussions and negotiations.
• Familiarity with standard IT software like MS Office and experience in ERP systems (knowledge of SAP R/3 would be a plus).
• A professional background in 3D CAD, manufacturing, and related planning processes.
• A university degree (or equivalent) in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A creative and innovative mindset, cost-driven, with good hands-on mechanical skills, and a collaborative spirit.
• An open cultural personality, consistent in work quality and self-discipline.
• Willingness to travel, including internationally.
• Strong flexibility and resilience under pressure.
• A valid driver’s license.
• Ability to understand big-picture thinking.

Job location
This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Jetpark, Gauteng, South Africa (ZA). You will be part of a dynamic team and enjoy the benefits of face-to-face collaboration
