Field Service Engineer / Technician

Your role

•    Perform expert repair, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting on compressed air equipment at customer sites across Malaysia.
•    Ensure minimal disruption to customer operations by delivering efficient and high‑quality service.
•    Coordinate daily tasks with the Service Operation Team Leader and Planner.
•    Accurately record productive labor hours and complete service reports using the MAM system.
•    Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessments (LMRA) before every job.
•    Adhere to all safety standards, including reporting hazards/incidents and wearing required PPE.
•    Service a wide range of equipment including:
     -  Atlas Copco compressors, dryers, and ancillary systems
     -  Competitor machines
•    Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and parameter checks (e.g., pressure, temperature) before and after service.
•    Ensure complete job execution by:
      -   Cleaning the equipment and work area
      -   Conducting test runs
•    Communicating results clearly to customers
•    Encourage customer engagement through Net Promoter Score (NPS) participation.
•    Identify additional service opportunities during site visits.
•    Participate in continuous development, including:
      -  Technical training from Service Academy / CTS Division
      -  Supporting colleagues and fostering team collaboration
•    Maintain readiness for 24/7 service availability to ensure business continuity for customers.

To succeed, you will need

• Minimum of 1 year hands-on experience working with compressed air equipment or related industrial machinery.
• Strong knowledge of servicing Atlas Copco products or competitor compressors, dryers, and related equipment is highly preferred.
• Proficient in reading technical manuals and preparing detailed service reports in English.
• Mechanical and electromechanical troubleshooting skills combined with practical diagnostic experience.
• Educational background in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic engineering through diploma or degree qualification.
• Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team, maintaining a strong customer service orientation.
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to analytical detail.
• Valid driving license enabling travel to various customer sites within your assigned region.
• A proactive self-starter with resilience to thrive in challenging environments.

Job location

You will be based at our customer center located in Johor, Malaysia, where you will join a dynamic and skilled field service team. The role requires working remotely with significant travel throughout your assigned region in Malaysia to provide personalized on-site service to our diverse customer base, ensuring timely and effective equipment maintenance and support.
