Your role

As the Key Account Manager for CP Chicago Pneumatic, you will serve a pivotal role in strengthening and growing our position within the Oil-Free Air and Gas Compressor markets across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This role demands a sales leader with comprehensive technical knowledge, strategic business development skills, and a commitment to building enduring partnerships with industrial clients across various sectors.

Your primary responsibilities will involve:

  • Identifying emerging market opportunities and expanding our footprint in critical industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, PET, Food & Beverage, Electronics, and General Engineering.
  • Designing and implementing targeted, data-driven sales strategies tailored to the unique characteristics and demands of your territory to maximize market share.
  • Establishing and sustaining trust-based relationships with key decision-makers including Plant Heads, Engineering Managers, and Procurement professionals to position CP Chicago Pneumatic as the preferred partner.
  • Proactively generating and managing a robust sales pipeline by qualifying leads, converting prospects, and fostering account growth through strategic account management.
  • Leading value-focused negotiations and commercial discussions to optimize pricing and improve margins while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Overseeing receivables and collaborating with finance teams to ensure timely collections and effective credit management.
  • Developing and mentoring a vibrant dealer and channel partner network to amplify market coverage and indirect sales capabilities.
  • Monitoring industry dynamics, competitor initiatives, and customer feedback to provide actionable market insights and support continuous improvement.
  • Conducting thorough post-opportunity evaluations to extract lessons from lost deals and refine sales approaches to enhance conversion rates.

In this capacity, you will also act as a trusted technical advisor, applying your deep understanding of compressor technologies and standards such as ISO 8573 to deliver innovative, energy-efficient solutions that precisely meet customer needs. Your leadership and expertise will directly influence the regional growth trajectory and reinforce the company’s reputation for excellence.

To succeed, you will need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering. An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is a distinct advantage.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven sales experience, including at least 3 years focused on compressors, industrial equipment, or related technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets, developing new markets, and managing high-value client relationships.
  • Solid technical knowledge of Oil-Free Air and Gas Compressor systems, with practical insight into process industry applications and standards.
  • Familiarity with ISO 8573 and a strong grasp of compressed air quality standards and energy efficiency considerations.
  • Exceptional consultative selling skills, allowing for solution-oriented interactions tailored to complex customer needs.
  • Strong business acumen, negotiation expertise, and a proactive, entrepreneurial approach to identifying and capturing growth opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building abilities, paired with high levels of accountability and responsiveness.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
