R&D Manager

Your role

As an Engineering Manager in Liuzhou Product Company, your mission is to implement the company's Product strategy regarding the development, introduction and maintenance of products, developing Engineering in all its dimensions (human, technical, etc.) and achieving technical excellence, technological leadership and innovation for product development and introduction as defined by the company and the Division. You will report to General Manager.

You will

•    Ensure sustainable profitable growth targets for PT business area through management of the Product Company Engineering team including New Product Introduction and Technical Support.
•    Focus on driving innovation, standardization and rationalization of products.
•    Build and strengthen the Engineering Team demonstrating strong leadership to ensure effective recruitment and selection, objective setting, and development for a multi-skilled engineering team.
•    Champion engineering integration and collaboration activities across APE & PTS Divisions and where appropriate the Power Technique Business Area
•    Create new innovative, market leading products and systems with high customer value to support profitable growth while efficiently maintaining and supporting existing products for product company Liuzhou.
•    Support the company’s overall targets and proactively support other departments in any engineering related activities.

Education: Degree in Engineering, Mechanical or Science discipline.

Relevant previous experience:
•    8 years Engineering or relevant experience at a management leadership level including of new product development programs, operations, and support activities.
•    Comprehensive technical knowledge , systemized products and their applications in the marketplace.
•    Experience in managing design/project initiatives and associated support staff.

•    Experience and understanding of supply chain and manufacturing systems.
•    A proven ability to manage projects and activities, delivering on time, to specification with strict quality and cost targets (project and product costs).

Language skills: Fluency in English 

Other skills and knowledge:
•    Sufficient business/commercial awareness to make appropriate proposals to balance potentially conflicting commercial and technical drivers.
•    Management expertise to build & develop a cohesive team, to provide leadership & direction, and to foster good communications across project teams & functions.
•    Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills at the highest levels, both internally and externally.  Able to achieve credibility and command respect. Influencing across functional boundaries is a key element of this role.

•    Result-driven, radiant personality, who has strong leadership skills with capability to give enthusiasm to the organization and can communicate effectively
•    Experience with cooperating in a decentralized organization working with different processes and development ways. 
•    Strong computer skills, CAD, 3D, Windchill and Solid Works

Job location

This role requires you to work on-site at our office in Liuzhou, China.
