We are currently seeking a Service Technician Apprentice to join our team in the Los Angeles or Sacramento, CA metro area.

 

Mission:

Your mission as a Service Technician Apprentice is to learn and train on how to promote, educate, and repair all types of Quincy Compressor products in the field and to increase brand awareness, profitability and market share so Quincy Compressor continues to be a leader in the compressor market.

 

Our Field Service Technicians are the organization's life-blood, keeping sophisticated machinery and control systems running right.  In this position you will work directly with customers, vendors, and co-workers to establish and maintain a positive relationship.  Methods of communication include effective oral-face to face, written (including emails), and phone/computer skills.  Apprentices will work directly with seasoned Field Service Technicians where they will be exposed to scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, general inspections, site inspections, service requests to include equipment replacement and/or modifications.  Quincy offers you access to technical support, hands on training on the newest and most innovative technology along with comprehensive career paths and unlimited opportunities for growth.

Principal Duties:

  • Will be responsible for learning and assisting with testing, start up, and servicing on assigned projects. 
  • Will be responsible for maintaining strong/positive customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Must have a general mechanical and electrical aptitude along with ability to learn to identify, analyze, diagnose, and repair customers equipment and systems.
  • Able to work independently and complete work within assigned deadlines.
  • Able to display a "team" effort and dedication to customer by flexibility in scheduling to include both overtime and rotating on-call as the business requires.  This may include travel away from home and occasional overnight stays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and to work in industrial environments involving extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
  • Dedication and availability to attend a 16 month program, including extensive classroom and on-the-job training held at remote locations - some of them out of state.

 

Skills and experience:

  • Computer and cell phone proficient.
  • Excellent communicator verbally, written, email and phone etiquette.
  • Have technical school certification or an Associate's degree in technical field (Candidates with a High School Diploma or Equivalent and technical training in electrical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics will be considered).

 

Other requirements:

  • English fluency
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Required to be in local Safety Consortiums as indicated by individual customers policies
  • TWIC card
  • Hand tool and specialty tools to be provided
