Your role

Your mission as a health and safety manager is to prevent workplace accidents, injuries, and occupational diseases, ensuring compliance with government regulations and promoting a culture of safety within the organisation. As a Quality Manager you will be responsible to ensure that all processes, products, and services meet or exceed quality standards. By promoting continuous improvement, reducing inefficiencies, and ensuring compliance, you aim to enhance customer satisfaction and uphold the highest level of quality across the organization.

As Health, Safety and Quality Manager you will report to the Vice President Operations.  

 

  • You will develop and align global and local health, safety, and quality strategies.
  • You will design and implement programs for new acquisitions to achieve triple certification (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
  • You will co-lead the SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) Council to promote a strong health, safety, and quality culture.
  • You will lead SHEQ managers and teams, ensuring compliance with Atlas Copco standards, legal requirements, and ISO certifications.
  • You will ensure compliance with VTBA risk control elements and coordinate thorough accident investigations.
  • You will collaborate with technical support teams to address complex requests for the existing service vacuum portfolio.
  • You will drive quality improvement programs to meet standards and achieve process excellence.
  • You will track safety, health, and quality KPIs, including metrics such as rework costs and test failure rates.
  • You will implement robust problem-solving processes, such as 5 Why, QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control), and 8D methodologies.
  • You will define and enforce quality and inspection standards to ensure product compliance.
  • You will foster a data-driven culture that emphasizes transparency and proactive failure detection.
  • You will ensure compliance for new product introductions by conducting PFMEAs (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses), safety reviews, and related assessments.

  • Several years of mid- to senior-level SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control processes and tools, such as FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) and SPC (Statistical Process Control).
  • Professional qualifications in Safety & Health or Quality Management, preferably supported by a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies (Green or Black Belt certification is a plus).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and regulatory guidelines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with ISO standards, including ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
  • Awareness of safety-related technical subjects and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Proven track record of achieving objectives and driving organizational change.
  • Ability to build professional networks and manage relationships on an international scale.
  • Strong commercial awareness and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment.
  • Fluency in English, any other languages advantageous.

Job location

We are a global team working in a hybrid model. This role will be based in either Burgess Hill or Eastbourne (UK), Cologne (Germany) or Lutin (Czech Republic). #Li-hybrid
