Your role

Due to ongoing business needs MSS Group wish to recruit an experienced Area Sales Manager.Ideally currently selling laser cutting, sheet metal working machinery, nitrogen generation or compressed gas products. Good knowledge and experience of capital equipment sales is important. A technical/engineering background is highly desirable. Detailed product training and support will be given.

Reporting to the Head of Sales, the role will require sales management of one of MSS key regional sales areas and MSS’s complete portfolio of high pressure nitrogen equipment including Nitrogen Generation systems, Gas Mixers, Gas filtration and gas monitoring systems plus our range of new and used laser cutting and deburring systems. Typical sales values £5k to £450k.

To succeed, you will need

  • Existing customer account and relationship management.
  • Sales growth & business development with new customers.
  • Organising & managing customer machine demonstrations at MSS premises in Rugby.
  • Occasional attendance at industry related exhibitions.
  • Providing detailed, clear technical guidance & justifications to potential customers.
  • Preparing sales documentation including quotations, sales orders and order acknowledgments.
  • Continual & accurate sales forecasting with established CRM system, including associated administration duties. 
  • Some sales support for PR, regular direct marketing and social media work.
    Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven track record selling capital equipment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Personable with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Able to work flexible hours with some nights staying away from home if required.
  • Self-disciplined with an ability to work autonomously.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence

Job location

This is a field based role covering Northern England & Scotland. You will ideally be located along the M62 corridor
