At Atlas Copco Vacuum North America, the role of the Technical Support Engineer is critical in ensuring an exceptional experience for both new and existing customers
We are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to support Atlas Copco and Dekker brand products. The Technical Support Engineer will report to the Regional Operations Manager and work closely with field service engineers, service sales engineers, distributors, and global technical support.
In this role, you will:
- Offer professional and timely service support to the Customer Centers, field service engineer, OEM, endusers and distributors.
- Continuously improve the product quality by a proactive failure reporting including resolution follow up. Analysis of incident and warranty reporting will be required. Documentation of incident and resolution with customer feedback is required
- Provide accurate and up to date service information covering all aspects of vacuum pump installation. Provide technical training to customer centers and dealers.
- Effectively diagnose electrical / electronic and control faults on customer equipment. Including MK5 gateway, Controller 4.0, VSD, PLC, etc.
- Understand and support Atlas Copco’s connectivity products including genuis box and controller 4.0.
- Serve as an ambassador for the company, promoting the Atlas Copco “Way”. Learn and share knowledge, experiences, and training with teammates to increase one’s own knowledge and knowledge of others.
- Display the ability to manage time accordingly. Must have the ability to work and solve problems independently. Always promote and practice proper safety procedures and the correct use of personal protective equipment.
- Contribute to positive Company branding by projecting a knowledgeable, professional, and customer-orientated image to customers.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Atlas Copco standards, while always striving to understand the needs and expectations of the customer.
- Take whatever action is appropriate and required to get the job done and to establish and maintain communications with all people/employees considered necessary to get the job done.

- Potential travel required no more than 25% of time. Travel to customer locations, including out-of-town and overnight travel.

What we expect of you?
To be successful, you will need:

Education:
- 4-year technical degree preferred
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Technical training in electrical, hydraulics, and/or pneumatics preferred.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of technical experience maintaining and repairing various types of mechanical and electrical equipment. Strong mechanical and electrical skills with demonstrated expertise in the maintenance, overhaul, and repair of a wide variety of industrial equipment, including electrical, hydraulics and/or pneumatics. Experience with Mechanical pumps, control logic, VSD is a plus.
Knowledge Areas:
- Technical expertise, combining mechanical and electrical components
- Aspiration to keep up to date with latest technical developments
- Experience in a service position in an industrial and highly technical environment
Critical Skills (Atlas Copco 9 Core Competency based evaluation)
- Able to work independently with strong self-management and professionalism. Able to complete work within assigned deadlines. Computer proficiency as required for communication, research, work orders and programming various controllers. Excellent customer service and communications skills (verbal and written).
- Must be fluent in English other languages including Spanish or French is a plus
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a occasion and work in industrial environments
