Key accountabilities/activities

 

As a Technical Sales Representative specializing in low pressure blowers, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, developing new business opportunities, and expanding market share for industrial customers throughout south-western Ontario. We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient sales professional with experience in the industrial equipment markets. Experience with rotating equipment, specifically blowers and compressors is a strong preference.

 

This position reports to the Business Line Manager – Air and Gas Applications (AGA) Division.

This position is based in the Greater Toronto area and the territory includes south western Ontario along the highway 401 corridor from Coburg to Windsor north to Georgian Bay and Lake Huron.

Overnight travel will be required to meet customers and attend industry events within your territory. Expect a minimum of 25% of your work time to be away from home base. Occasional travel required to attend company events, training and sales meetings within Canada.

The work schedule is full-time 35 hours per week.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Maximize the sales of all available low-pressure products to our current and new industrial customers through consistent sale prospecting activities in your territory.
  • Identify, qualify, and develop new business opportunities while strengthening relationships with existing customers. 
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets for revenue, unit sales, profitability, and market share growth. 
  • Prepare and deliver high impact sales presentations, proposals and financial justifications to accelerate customer buying decision and differentiate our offering from the competition.
  • Provide technical consultation and application support to customers, engineers, contractors, consultants, and end users.
  • Develop and execute territory growth plans that increase market penetration and customer coverage.
  • Coordinate activities with distributors and internal stakeholders to ensure exceptional customer support and project execution.
  • Maintain a disciplined approach to customer follow-up, quotation management, and opportunity tracking.
  • Gather and report market intelligence, including competitor activities, emerging technologies, customer trends, and new applications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of customer interactions, visits, quotations, opportunities, and forecasts within the CRM system.
  • Attend industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and product training sessions to maintain technical and market knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain your knowledge of low pressure industrial applications and Atlas Copco products to offer solution consultant level support for your customers by attending product trainings and actively engaging with online resources.
  • Comply with the organization’s environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in a service or equipment business supporting industrial customers, ideally with specific experience in compressed air/gas markets. 
  • Commercial experience in a customer facing role with preference for industrial equipment, rotating equipment, compressors, gas systems, or related industries. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout Ontario with occasional travel across Canada for customer visits, trade shows or company events.
  • Fully fluent in English with strong written and verbal acumen.  Ability to communicate ideas clearly and conduct presentations with enthusiasm.
  • Excellent computer skills, specifically using Microsoft Office Suite and previous experience using a CRM system

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical) or equivalent technical experience. 
  • Experience with CRM platforms and sales pipeline management. 
  • Experience in waste water treatment, fermentation, leaching, pneumatic conveying or other industrial processes that require diffused air/gas flow. 
  • Established network within manufacturing, mining, energy, industrial gas, or process industries.

In return, we offer

The base salary range for this position is $80,000.00 to $95,000.00 and may vary due to factors such as job-related knowledge, skills and experience. This role is also eligible for an uncapped commission plan with an estimated annual on-target earnings of $30,000.00 depending on individual performance. If your qualifications differ from those listed above, the scope of work and final compensation may be different.
