Strategic Category Buyer – Indirect Material & Services

We are now looking for a Strategic Category Buyer – Indirect Material & Services to strengthen our Global Sourcing organization within Core Operations in Tierp.

In this role, you will take a strategic and hands-on responsibility for sourcing indirect materials and services, working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to drive performance, savings, and long-term value.

You will report to the Global Category Manager – Indirect Materials and Services.

Your role

As Strategic Category Buyer, you act as a trusted adviser in sourcing‑related matters and lead the development and execution of category strategies for indirect materials and services, such as MRO, Capex, facilities, logistics, and related services.  You combine market knowledge, commercial skills, and collaboration to ensure the right suppliers, the right agreements, and the right outcomes – today and tomorrow.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead and execute category strategies for indirect materials and services
• Partner with internal stakeholders to define requirements, align priorities, and deliver optimal sourcing solutions
• Lead RFx processes end‑to‑end, including supplier evaluations, negotiations, contracting, and awards
• Drive savings initiatives and ensure delivery against agreed KPIs and sourcing plans
• Develop and manage a competitive supplier base, drive performance across Quality, Delivery, Cost, Sustainability, and Technology, and leading supplier relationship management including escalation when needed
• Apply market intelligence, supplier insights, and innovation to support category development and continuous improvement
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards

To succeed, you will need

We are looking for someone with solid experience from manufacturing or a similar technical environment, combined with a strong commercial mindset and sound understanding of sourcing indirect materials and services.

In addition you bring:

• Experience in category management and sourcing of indirect materials and services
• Proven negotiation skills and experience working with contracts and RFx processes
• Ability to build trustful, longterm relationships with both internal stakeholders and external suppliers
• A structured and analytical way of working, with the resilience to manage multiple activities in parallel
• Fluency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent relevant experience
