Japan DC Operational Buyer

Your role

The operational buyer contributes to the overall performance of the Distribution Centre by ensuring and procuring a continuous supply of materials, supplies, and services, creating the seamless and cost-effective procurement of goods and services to satisfy all customer and site needs.

The operational buyer plays a vital role in maintaining the flow of materials and services required for daily operations. By managing purchase orders, supplier relationships, and inventory levels. This position bridges the communications with Yachiyo PC procurement team and PC production controls with strategic sourcing objectives, contributing to overall supply chain efficiency and resilience.

To succeed, you will need

Education level

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent discipline preferred.

Relevant Previous experience

• Minimum of 2 years materials buyer/procurement experience using MRP systems
• Experience in global supply chain/logistics management knowledge

Knowledge areas/Skills

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• MS office skills with high proficiency in Excel.
• Fluent in written and verbal English and Japanese
• Excellent communication skills including reporting, leading meetings and inter-personal skills
• Demonstrates an openness to change and readily learns and adapts to new technologies
• Prioritizes work and timely addresses internal customer requests
•  Work in a global environment with people from all different countries
• Highly motivated to drive improvement
• SAP Knowledge & Skills preferred
