Your role
Major Responsibilities
As an Onsite Service Engineer at Atlas Copco, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction by delivering expert onsite technical support and consultancy on our industrial tools and assembly systems. Your responsibilities will encompass a diverse range of tasks to maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of Atlas Copco equipment at customer sites.
- Independent Service Execution: Lead installation, calibration, repair, and maintenance of Atlas Copco tools with precision. Perform software installation, debugging, and basic troubleshooting to ensure equipment operates seamlessly.
- Service Planning and Implementation: Develop and manage service plans based on contractual obligations, ensuring that service delivery aligns with customer expectations and company standards.
- Customer Training and Support: Deliver comprehensive training sessions on product operation to empower customers to utilize our products effectively and safely.
- Quality Assurance and Reporting: Conduct Walk The Line activities and provide detailed reports. Collect quality-related product information, manage warranty claims, and ensure timely resolution of customer complaints.
- Issue Resolution and Communication: Proactively follow up on open customer issues until resolved. Maintain excellent communication channels with customers, ensuring transparency and responsiveness.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership: Mentor and guide on-site technicians to enhance their service capabilities. Escalate business and technical risks promptly to management for proactive mitigation.
- Operational Excellence: Accurately record work activities and timings in operational systems. Collect, analyze, and present key performance indicator (KPI) data to support continuous improvement efforts.
- Technical Analysis and Support: Prepare technical problem-solving and root cause analysis reports to contribute to long-term service improvements.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies. Manage safety equipment and fire protection assets as needed.
- Managerial Support: Assist the team leader with service contract management and any additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
This role requires a collaborative and customer-oriented mindset, with an ability to work independently while embracing continuous improvement and innovation.
To succeed, you will need
To succeed, you will need:
- A college degree or higher in mechanical or electrical engineering. Degrees in computer science, information systems, or related software fields are advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in aftermarket service for industrial products, with expertise in diagnostic, repair, and troubleshooting processes.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electronic, and electrical systems, including PLC, Fieldbus, and Ethernet technologies.
- Proficiency with MS Office applications and competent PC skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English with strong reading and writing skills.

- Willingness to perform on-site services as required and awareness of urgency in task execution.

This role is based at our Atlas Copco facility located in Nantong, China, within the Industrial Technique business area. Working on-site will allow for dynamic teamwork, direct customer engagement, and immediate response to technical service needs, contributing to enhanced operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
