Your mission
As a fastening application engineer, you will be involved in the development of new joining technologies, support and organization of prototype builds, as well as developing technical materials for publication and presentation. The position will give you an opportunity to conduct, organize, and test the boundaries of joint development on customer supplied materials.


The role

  • Conduct joining trials and strength testing on customer supplied materials in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Document test details and results in formats that can be directly presented to end customers.
  • Be able to oversee and manage projects from conception through to production.
  • Liaise with Sales and Engineering to ensure communication of all technical requirements and schedules.
  • Support Sales with technical presentations to current and potential customers.
  • Work with minimal supervision on all the core tasks.
  • Communicate and work effectively with global Henrob manufacturing, engineering, and applications individuals.
  • Provide suggestions to the organization for new methods and products and the improvement of current standards.
  • Cooperate with other teams to ensure smooth business operations.
  • Periodic business travel to support the above activities; mostly local, but international travel may occur on occasion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Skills and experience

  • Experience in evaluating and testing of materials and / or material joining
  • Knowledge of Instron tensile test machines and operating systems
  • Knowledge of PC Window based software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Good communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate basic industrial power equipment
  • Preference for knowledge of automotive joining process and manufacturing.
  • Must be eligible with work in the United States, sponsorship is not available at this time.



  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Material Science
