Your role

We are currently seeking Production Team Lead for our Forging department at our New Hudson, Michigan location.  The successful candidate will provide hands-on leadership to the manufacturing plant floor to assist the Production Supervisor with workflow and productivity in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency.  You will be reporting to the Production Supervisor. This is a position on 2nd shift: 4pm-12:30am

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensure timely completion of production tasks and goals

    • Support the Production Supervisor in team engagement and performance

    • Assist with resource planning and workflow coordination

    • Train and reinforce standardized work practices

    • Participate in coaching and performance reviews

    • Communicate tooling and supply needs

    • Promote continuous improvement and lean culture

    • Operate equipment and ensure accurate documentation

    • Manage team schedules and job distribution

    • Process finished goods electronically via SYSPRO

    • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a lead role in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proactive approach towards safety and 5S standards; understanding that safety and quality come first
  • Direct experience with basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of basic math
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional approach and team oriented
  • Punctual team player with a positive attitude

EDUCATION:

  • High school Diploma required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (AS APPLICABLE):

  • Able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Must be able to move around production area, including standing and bending
  • Must have good visual acuity to read and use operations software system
  • Push or pull trolley
  • Occasionally crouch or bend (lower than 36” from ground)
