We are currently looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer Steam for the UK.

Your mission as Field Service Engineer Steam will be to aid the execution of sound technical steam solutions across multiple industry sectors – with a focus on:

  • Identifying customer requirements & tailoring bespoke solutions to fit that criteria.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with sound service & breakdown strategies.

 Job description

The Field Service Engineer Steam will be working with the project team to deliver rental boiler packages across the UK & Ireland. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of project execution from the initial site survey, all the way through to aftercare.

 

 Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out site surveys to ascertain the technical requirements of any potential rental solution.
  • Contribute to the design phase of the project.
    • Steam pipework
    • Boiler feed water pipework
  • Carry out the commissioning activities prior to customer handover.
  • Carry out service checks & attend breakdowns if required
  • The efficient management of PSSR2000 inspections, working closely with our chosen competent body.
  • Maintain regular customer contact to establish requirements and ensure a high standard of customer service is delivered at all times.
  • Maintain the spares management system.
  • Provide technical support to the sales team during the tendering phase.
  • To work alongside and collaborate with other Atlas Copco business colleagues to effectively promote Atlas Copco products and services.

 Experience requirements

  • Previous project engineering experience, preferably field-based.
  • Previous field commissioning and repair experience.
  • Strong HSE track record.
  • Experience with pipework, hose work & associated ancillaries.
  • The ability to diagnose and fault-find problems.
  • The ability to read P & ID as well as Electrical schematics.
  • Communication: the ability to express ideas, send, receive and exchange information clearly.
  • Understand and demonstrate an awareness of the link between their role and the business goals.
  • Able to positively persuade, convince and impress others in order to achieve results.
  • Able to maintain organisational, ethical and social values in all business activities.

Knowledge

  • Good technical & theoretical knowledge.
  • A willingness to learn new skills and participate in various training courses
  • Good report writing skills.
  • Good troubleshooting & fault finding skills both mechanical and electrical
  • Broad engineering knowledge across a number of subject matters.
  • Good IT skills and competencies. Experienced user of the Office 365 suite. AutoCAD experience would be beneficial

 

Educational requirements

  • Possess a recognised qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
  • Qualifications relative to the steam industry would be advantageous, but training will be provided.

  • Be willing to travel extensively within the UK and occasionally to Europe, applying time to complete tasks.
