Your role

As a Field Service Engineer, your mission is to deliver expert technical support and maintenance services for BeaconMedaes’ medical gas systems, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance across healthcare facilities. You’ll be a key player in upholding our reputation for reliability and excellence in medical gas solutions.

 

You will

  • Schedule work and carry out maintenance inspection and service visits on allocated hospitals within time schedules and budget hours.
  • Maintain medical air & medical vacuum plant (including air compressors & dryers) & the full range of medical gas system equipment including terminal units, manifolds and alarms in accordance with planned maintenance schedules, leaving the hospital fully operational and maintained to specification. This will include fault finding, stripping down, repairing of all manufacturer’s equipment and plant.
  • Provide 24-hour cover for hospitals in the event of an emergency call, forming part of a team working on a rota basis.
  • Identify, tender and carry out remedial works, upgrades and service works to provide additional services to customers and to maximise the company’s sales and profitability.
  • Keep all schedules of hospital equipment accurate and up to date using the MyMedGas FSE App.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health and safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to customers, maintaining strong relationships.
  • Accurately complete service reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.

  • Ideally located within the Northwest region, either Manchester or surrounding areas would be ideal.
  • Proven experience in a field service or engineering role, ideally within medical gas, compressor and vacuum maintenance, or hydraulic and pneumatic systems, must be multi-disciplined.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND, or equivalent).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across regions.
