Engineering Manager
Your role
The Engineering Manager is responsible to assure compliant customer solutions; act as expert technical point of contact and continuously improve & train the project engineering processes and competence in Systems and Solutions. The role will assure First time right, On time, compliant engineered solutions.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Assure compliance of engineered solutions to customer and internal specifications and international standards.
- Engage in design and product safety review processes for complex systems.
- Act as delegated authority for product safety, CE compliance, and HazLoc champion.
- Training and Support:
- Train HazLoc, design review, and product safety processes.
- Provide guidance in systemization best practice.
- Act as HazLoc point of contact within Systems and Solutions SA & ME.
- Project Engineering Processes:
- Develop project engineering processes, tools, and controls to drive ‘right from me’ and ‘On Time’ culture.
- Implement tools and checklists to support project efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
- Champion global collaboration and adoption of global engineering tools and systems.
- Knowledge Sharing and Team Development:
- Promote knowledge capture and sharing, including lessons learnt, to enhance the capability of engineering teams.
- Accelerate time to competence of engineering teams through training, coaching, and mentoring.
- Expert Input and Support:
- Give expert input to engineering and risk reviews at pre-order stage.
- Support order initiation and KOM process to ensure projects are set for success.
- Be a subject matter expert for complex systems designs and modules. Attend customer Kick Off; Technical review and HazOps
- Verification and Interaction:
- Verify compliance of solutions through review and approval of PIDs and models
- Ensure modeling is within boundaries of specified certification.
Interact with other departments to assure compliance of technical solutions.
To succeed, you will need
Educational requirements
- University degree (Bachelor/Masters) in an related engineering/science discipline with required certifications.
Experience requirements
- Result-oriented and experienced professional (10+ years) with proven experience with vacuum systems, engineering and technology
Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Knowledge in SAP advantageous
- Excellent command of English in both writing and speaking, other languages advantageous
- Strong Industrial and Scientific vacuum technology, applications & product knowledge and compliance
- Experienced in developing engineers
