As our current Engineering Manager is taking on a new role within the Atlas Copco Group, we are seeking a new leader to join the Management Team at our Product Company Padova Italy, Varisco Srl.

As Engineering Manager, it is your mission to oversee the daily Engineering activities of the Product Company Padova, ensure safety at all times, especially in the Laboratory. This encompasses managing the Engineering roadmap, ensuring its continuous development through constant collaboration with the T&I Team, while supporting existing products in the markets. The main pillars of this role are People, Engineering Excellence, Quality, Safety, Health, Environment (SHE), Digitalization and Customer Satisfaction. The Engineering Manager will drive the roadmap and investments to transform the unit into a world-class Product Company, in cooperation with the other heads of departments and functions, while being actively part of the Management Team.

 

The objectives for you and your team are:

  • Own the responsibility for the engineering Team of the Product Company (New Product Development, Laboratory, supporting functions), fully embracing the vision of delivering quality on time, in budget and safely.
  • Prepare and execute ambitious growth strategies to achieve the Divisions’ targets.
  • Ensure the company has the right people with the right attitude, focusing on their competence development and empowerment.
  • Safeguard competence retention and sharing in the Engineering Department by recruiting, coaching, and training, and implementing the right tools and organizational structure.
  • Create awareness about the importance of Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ), leading the organization in fostering a strong “Safety First” culture and a “Quality First” mindset, especially in the Laboratory.
  • Drive and support the transformation towards a “make standard, sell special” mindset, shaping the New Product Development (NPD) process and future manufacturing plans.
  • Ensure a healthy pipeline of new product development projects that deliver performance, sustainability, and financial improvements, focusing on modularization, technology innovation, and sustainability.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration in product development projects, ensuring efficient production from the early stages and interaction with Production, Purchasing, and Aftersales Teams.
  • Focus on efficient engineering flows that guarantee reliable time-to-market project execution, consistently meeting internal and external customer expectations.
  • Lead the development of an agile engineering organization, supporting business fluctuations and changing requirements through lean processes, clean facilities, and optimal use of resources.
  • Ensure that adequate Soft- and Hardware and Engineering Systems are in place.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of all activities (Capitalization, Hours, etc..) in close cooperation with Business Control.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with the Technology and Innovation (T&I) Team. 

 

What we expect from our candidates:

  • Proven track record and experience in managing cross-functional Engineering teams.
  • Solid understanding of Engineering processes in a Manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree - or above- in Engineering.
  • Passionate about Engineering excellence and team development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership presence with a hands-on, proactive approach.
  • Results-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Able to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in CAD and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Excellent command of both Italian and English is mandatory.
