The Mission of the Logistics Manager is to oversee and develop the daily operational logistics of the Product Company Padova, ensuring excellence in People, Logistics, Quality, SHE, and Customer Satisfaction.
By driving digitalization and operational excellence, the manager aims to continuously improve logistics processes and develop further the logistics operations into a world-class standard, being able to follow the changing business needs.
The Logistics Manager is committed to foster a 'Safety First' and 'Quality First' culture, while achieving ambitious operational and strategic targets.
The Logistics Manager prioritizes efficient logistics flows and a high-performing, agile organization, ensuring financial control over costs to build an efficient and robust logistics foundation.
Ultimately, the Logistics Manager strives to deliver reliable and timely logistics services, meeting and exceeding customer expectations for 3 different Divisions (Portable Power & Flow “PPF”, Industrial Flow “IFD” and Power Technique Service “PTS”).
The Logistics Manager is an active member of the Product Company Management Team
Main responsabilities
- Be fully accountable for the logistics operations of the Product Company, embracing the vision of delivering quality on time and safely.
- Delivers strategies, plans and processes towards achieving business goals, profitability and sustainability.
- Drive the department acting as a distribution center - both for equipment and spare parts - for the Customer Center Varisco and all connected Industrial Flow (“IFD” = Industrial Flow Division) Customer Centers.
- Adapting to potential changes in this setup.
- Keep a high accuracy of data to ensure a data driven process, measuring and benchmarking overall warehouse outbound performance using all relevant key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensuring the company has the right talent with the right attitude, focusing on competence development and retention, performance management coaching and empowerment.
- Create awareness about Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ), fostering a strong "Safety First" and "Quality First" culture.
- Support the shift towards a "make standard, sell special" mindset, enhancing the company's operational model actively promoting standardization and reducing complexity.
- Prioritize customer care and delivery performance, to our internal and external customers, ensuring efficient logistics flows that meet customer expectations, working closely with Production.
- Measure customer satisfaction with NPS (Net Promoter Score). Follow up on actions needed, with good communication.
- Work actively and cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Aftermarket and Information Technology to support the activities to connect new Customer Centers during handover projects to ensure a good onboarding.
- Drive operational excellence by maintaining lean processes, high-quality housekeeping facilities, and optimal use of resources, manpower, and working capital, ensuring agility in logistics operations.
- Monitor and drive team performance across service excellence, capital efficiency and operational efficiency by strong people engagement and process adoption.
- Drive continuous improvement projects at all levels to enhance productivity, digitalization and process automation.
- Work within corporate policies and procedures and demonstrate expected behaviors aligned with Atlas Copco Code of Conduct.
- Promote cooperation and alignment with other Product Company functions and divisions, sharing and embracing best practices to achieve high performance.
What we expect from our candidates:
- Bachelor’s degree - or above- in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing a growing team
- More than 5 years of experience in manufacturing companies in logistic department
- Extensive experience (more than 5 years) in end-to-end logistics and supply chain management, including transportation, warehousing, inventory control, distribution, and order fulfillment processes
- Proven expertise in managing warehouse operations, including storage optimization, inventory accuracy, stock rotation, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma); Lean Six Sigma certification is a plus.
- Experience in project management; PMP certification is preferred and will be considered a strong asset
- Ability to analyze logistics data, KPIs, and performance metrics to identify trends, drive decision-making, and implement corrective actions to improve operational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional collaboration with Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in logistics technology platforms, including ERP systems (knowledge of SAP is a plus), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)and supply chain analytics tools
- Ownership, accountability and continuous improvement orientation

- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and AI technologies.
- Excellent command of both Italian and English is mandatory.

Compensation & Benefit

For this role, the successful candidate will be offered a permanent employment contract under the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, classified as a white-collar employee at Level A1. The compensation package includes a starting salary within the relevant pay range beginning at €59k gross per year, complemented by an individual variable compensation scheme, a company car, a fourteenth month's salary, and participation in the collective profit-sharing bonus program.
In addition, employees benefit from a hybrid working model with flexible working hours. Job Location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at Varisco S.r.l. Padova, Italy.
