Team Leader NPD

The Mission

We are seeking an Engineering Team Leader eager to join our Team in Varisco Product Company, in Padova, Italy (in Varisco s.r.l., part of the Atlas Copco Group).    

Varisco is a well-established and ever-expanding company. It manufactures pumps, both for dewatering and industrial use. In 2016 Varisco was acquired by Atlas Copco, a Swedish multinational company with 150 years of history behind it. 

As Engineering Team Leader your Mission is to coordinate and manage New Product Development team (NPD) of Engineering department, with the aim of developing and updating new products and components, managing projects from feasibility to serial production according to the Atlas Copco “Concept to Product” (C-t-P) design guidelines and ensuring product portfolio maintenace.

The Role:

• Leading NPD team in order to design 3D/2D drawings and, if necessary, coordinating Gecia support on these activities.
• Monitoring new products development according to the Atlas Copco “Concept to Product” (C-t-P) design guidelines and coordinating activities of your team.
• Management of NPD projects, following the design, drawings, carrying out risk and cost analysis, in compliance with current legislation.
• Selection of the components by evaluating them from a technical and economic point of view.
• Monitoring prototype development and test results in order to verify their compliance with technical specific, in cooperation with Team Leader Labo.
• Creation of all the drawings necessary for the prototypes production, on which the final tests will be carried out and the BOM will be released.
• Drawing up the CE technical files and providing needed information to release instruction manuals.
• Creating and updating Technical Files, project documentation and presentations

What we expect from our candidates:

• Proven experience in people management (min 3 years)
• Proven experience in engineering (min 5 years)
• University Degree - Mechanical engineering or similar
• Italian and English fluency
• Positive and proactive approach, empathy and resilience
• Structured approach to lead activities with precision and punctuality
• Problem solving and team working attitude
• Ability to coordinate a team by taking care of priorities and deadlines, being able to plan ahead
• Ability to maintain respectful relations with all colleagues in order to foster a safe, calm and productive environment

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at Varisco S.r.l. Padova, Italy.
