Purpose of This Job

  • The Distributor Manager – Oil Free Air is responsible for the selection, management, and performance optimization of distributors within assigned territories. This role ensures that distributors are well-equipped, trained, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives to drive sales growth, enhance market penetration, and improve customer satisfaction. The position requires to have strong sales expertise, technical knowledge of air compressors, and experience managing distributor relationships.

 

Duties & Responsibility

1. Distributor Network Management

  • Identify, onboard, and develop new distributors in targeted regions.
  • Maintain strong relationships with existing distributors to maximize sales potential.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide strategic guidance to improve sales effectiveness.

2. Sales & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute sales plans to meet revenue and market share objectives.
  • Work closely with distributors to drive demand generation and new customer acquisition.
  • Identify and penetrate key industries such as manufacturing, automotive, construction, and energy where air compressors are essential.

3. Technical & Product Support

  • Provide product training and technical support to distributors and their sales teams.
  • Ensure distributors have the necessary technical knowledge to address customer inquiries and provide effective solutions.
  • Work with engineering teams to understand product advancements and communicate benefits to distributors.

4. Market & Competitor Analysis

  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to adjust sales strategies.
  • Gather insights on pricing, technology trends, and service expectations to maintain a competitive edge.

5. Supply Chain & Inventory Management

  • Coordinate with distributors to ensure optimal stock levels and avoid shortages or excess inventory.
  • Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely product delivery.

6. Marketing & Promotional Support

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop targeted promotional campaigns for distributors.
  • Ensure distributors have access to updated sales materials, product brochures, and marketing tools.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and exhibitions to enhance brand visibility.

7. Reporting & Compliance

  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular sales reports to senior management.
  • Ensure distributors adhere to company policies, pricing structures, and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor financial health and credit terms of distributors to mitigate risks.

 

Qualifications

[Experience/Education]

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Business, Sales, or a related field.
  • 10+ years in distributor management, sales, or business development in the air compressor, industrial equipment, or related industry.

[Knowledge/Skill]

  • Understanding of air compressor systems, their applications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent relationship management and communication abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Proficiency in CRM and sales reporting tools.
  • Travel Requirements: Frequent travel to distributor locations, customer sites, and industry events.
