  • MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    • To develop, implement and maintain a highly effective business development plan to ensure the NPE brand is well recognised and positioned to achieve its future sales objectives and market expectations.
    • To facilitate and foster relationships with clients in our target markets to be viewed as the first choice supplier.
    • To comply with company policies, procedures and HSEQ procedures.
    • BDM focus (strategic growth, partnerships, new markets, high-value opportunities).
    • Lead generation and qualification.
    • Identify and nurture strategic leads.
    • Accountable for development and successful achievement of business sales plans, sales revenues and profit expectations from your target markets.
    • Involvement in the development of processes and procedures that result in improved business performance and outcomes.
    • Revenue growth from development of existing and new long-term customers.
    • Development of strategic business plans that are clearly understood and identify the path to market leadership, within our chosen markets.
    • Identify and implement strategies that establish NPE as the preferred supplier to our chosen clients and market segments.
    • Cultivate a close working relationship with management and all reporting personnel to ensure NPE business plans and processes interact effectively with the operational processes and procedures of the Group.
    • Ensure business growth objectives are met through the development of both innovative solutions and applications for existing and new products and services.
    • Establish effective systems to capture and manage market intelligence, customer trends and competitor activity.
    • To grow the business unit (mining WA) sales figures, to achieve current sales budget for this division.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key customer decision makers and where possible, develop long term contractual supply agreements with those clients.
    • Any other duties that may arise

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

    • Developing and maintaining effective systems to capture & monitor market intelligence, customer trends and competitor activity.
    • Business growth targets met through the development of innovative solutions and applications for existing & new products and services.
    • CRM integration (eg InspHire) to track handoffs and progress.
    • Demonstrate success in strategic growth and partnerships, and expansion into new markets.
    • Use shared dashboards to track and demonstrate progress and foster accountability.
    • Promote a culture of mutual respect and shared success.

CORE COMPETENCIES & SKILLS

Essential:              

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sales, account management or business development within an SME organisation (mining and resources experience desirable);
  • Comprehensive strategic management, interpersonal and leadership skills;
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to operate in a highly entrepreneurial manner;
  • Excellent and recognisable negotiating and communication skills;
  • Current c-class Driver’s License;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and plant range, or similar transferrable knowledge;
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic management and business development;
  • Highly developed and recognisable communication, negotiation and influencing skills;
  • Proven ability to manage outcomes and expectations with senior business leaders and key stakeholders maintaining strong professional relationships;
  • Friendly, outgoing and professional demeanour;
  • Results driven, solutions focused and highly organised;
  • Strong analytical capability;
  • A demonstrable business acumen, with the ability to operate in new market segments;
  • Excellent and recognisable negotiating and communication skills;
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical & DAS assessment;
  • Computer literate;
  • National Police Clearance;
  • Organisational and multi-tasking skills;
  • Able to work unsupervised

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualification in Business Management, Mining, Mechanical or Civil Engineering;
  • Background in power or related experience.
