MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Your responsibilities will include other tasks, which your Manager may instruct you to undertake from time to time.

  • Develop professional business relationships with key customer decision makers and where possible, obtain long term contractual supply agreements with those clients
  • Ensure prompt & courteous service to meet the needs of both internal & external customers that supports the professional image of the company
  • Identify and implement strategies that establish NPE as the preferred supplier to our chosen clients and market segments
  • Participate in the development of processes and procedures that result in improved business performance and outcomes
  • Develop and maintain effective systems to capture & monitor market intelligence, customer trends and competitor activity
  • Take a lead with client contact and ensure that the relationships you develop support the concept that clients call NPE first
  • Meet delivery deadlines to achieve installation dates/deadlines
  • Develop proactive and productive working relationships with internal customers, managers and other NPE employee’s
  • Prepare quotes for client enquiries, purchase order receipting and other financial activities to accurate record quotations and actual sales data
  • Continually promote the Company products and services to increase customer base and internal sales revenue
  • Review requisition orders to verify accuracy, terminology, and specifications
  • Prepare purchase orders and send copies to suppliers and to departments originating requests; where necessary
  • Review and respond purchasing queries ensure accurate information is provided in a timely manner
  • Respond to internal customer and external supplier inquiries about order status, changes, or cancellations
  • Coordinate with stores personal to ensure that inventory stocks are kept as required levels taking into consideration the sales life cycle, invoice posting and inventory control & management through to tracking invoice payment
  • To work in a consultative manner with both internal and external clients to both secure and deliver our specialist rental services and associated projects in a timely, safe and profitable manner
  • Availability to accept emails and calls after standard reasonable hours to deal with business-critical issues determined by the employer
  • Other tasks as directed by your Manager

 

 

 

CORE COMPENTENCIES & SKILLS

Essential:

 

  • Demonstrated strong experience in sales, account management or business development (rental, heavy industry or resources experience would be advantageous)
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equipment and plant range of pumps, generators, or compressors (or similar transferrable product knowledge)
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic management within a sales environment
  • Highly developed and recognizable communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to manage outcomes and expectations with senior business leaders and key stakeholders maintaining strong professional relationships
  • A recognised team leader, strategic lateral thinker, and consummate negotiator
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of business and with all manner of customers
  • Experience managing client accounts and budgets with a friendly, outgoing and professional demeanour
  • Results driven, solutions focused and highly organised with a strong analytical capability
  • Demonstrable business acumen, with the ability to operate in a highly entrepreneurial manner
  • Excellent and recognisable negotiating and communication skills
  • Exceptional organisation and planning skills with strong adherence to deadlines
  • Patient, flexible and adaptable to changing and challenging circumstances
  • Ability to contribute to ongoing improvement and expansion in your own knowledge and skill set
