Water Treatment Technician (Perth)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS ROLE:
Accountability for the operation, maintenance, monitoring and adjustment of water treatment plants and associated equipment. Adherence to compliance with State, Federal and local laws, regulation and policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Conduct a variety of process tests, water treatment operations and maintenance
- Assists with mechanical preventative and corrective maintenance of process equipment
- Participate in ongoing site audits
- Assess works to be completed and implement immediate correction action as required
- Create, review, analyse and submit spreadsheets, graphing, and monthly operating and regulatory reports
- Report any HSEQ issues immediately to Management for action
- Order site consumables and chemicals as required
- Monitor and respond to all equipment outages or malfunctions on sites as required
- Manage the alarm system installation and monitoring for all relevant plant and equipment
- Ensuring all plant and equipment to be utilised on specific sites are properly tested, inspected, calibrated and service records are maintained
- Perform analysis of reports and data to determine areas of opportunity for better performance
- Conduct sampling duties in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Delivering exceptional customer service and championing the NPE brand
- Other duties as directed by your supervisor
CORE COMPENTENCIES & SKILLS
Essential:
- Current Drivers Licence
- Tertiary Qualifications (Environmental) and/or Trade Certificate (Electrical/ Mechanical or Plumbing)
- Construction Induction
- Strong water treatment understanding
- Chemical knowledge, understanding of processes
- Mechanical aptitude
- Hydraulic knowledge
- Electrical & control system aptitude High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent time management and an ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
- Ability to work well with other team members and champion the NPE brand
- Ability to work with flexibility and initiative with limited direction or supervision
Desirable:
- Experience in the Rental, Mining, Construction or Heavy industries
- Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators or Water Treatment Plant Operators Certificate/experience
- Forklift licence (LF)
