Your role

 

This position is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual and automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, order fulfillment, and shipment of products. The Warehouse Associate is accountable for accuracy of order fulfillment and inventory records in the ERP system. Performs all essential functions with focus on the efficient flow of products from the point of receipt from vendors to the shipment of products to a variety of internal and external customers.

Scope of Responsibility: Ownership of order fulfilment for discrete customer orders, incoming goods receipt process execution and related warehouse functions.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for physical movement of inventory and goods within the warehouse. Receive inventory from purchase orders and ensure items are accurately stocked and documented. 
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through careful accounting of items moving in and out, using picking lists, inventory transfer journals, etc.
  • Responsible for accurate execution of all order fulfillment steps from picking to packaging, packing slip preparation, and processing of shipping transaction.
  • Perform quality checks on own work and the work of other warehouse associates.
  • Utilize UPS Worldship/FEDEX and other freight vendors and business systems to prepare shipment of domestic and international orders.
  • Interact with internal customers to quickly resolve issues through root cause analysis.
  • Actively contribute to warehouse safety, quality, and productivity by identifying inefficiencies and making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Perform all functions in compliance with all warehouse processes and safety rules (including dress code).
  • Work on special projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively perform all steps of the order fulfilment process from picking list generation through picking of goods, packing of goods for transit, proper labeling, and order completion with ERP system.
  • Ability to investigate inventory or order fulfilment issues to determine root-cause and resolve discrepancies or recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers and ability to read work order and follow oral instructions.
  • Must have a high level of detail-orientation with the ability to effectively perform quality checks on own work and the work of others.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in inventory software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office 365 is preferred.
  • Flexibility and ability to handle the pressure of a fast-paced and diverse work environment.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs., bend, twist, walk, stand for extended periods of time, and reach frequently.
  • Must be reliable and have strong work ethic and ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment. Must be also be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Prefer candidates with forklift certifications and prior experience operating a cherry picker and/or other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to maneuver and handle specialized/hazardous products (such as oil and chemicals).
  • Good problem-solving skills and good verbal and written communication skills

 

 

Experience

 

 

  • A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in shipping and warehouse environment.
  • Previous experience utilizing order processing systems, shipping systems and Microsoft Office 365.

 

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
