Material Master Data Steward

Your role
High‑quality master data is crucial for running the business, meeting regulations, and supporting digital tools like Smart Portal, Digital Sales & Marketing, and AI.
Yet, having a complex and decentralized master data processes across many systems and divisions, making it hard to get a complete overview or implement global initiatives.
Your mission is to become the End‑to‑end global Material Master Data for Atlas Copco Business Area IT, mainly in SAP. You will advise the business, explain processes, support issues, and educate stakeholders. You will also advocate and drive better governance, adherence to AC Group Code and data quality by working closely with Master Data Stewards, the MDM hub, and other business/IT stakeholders.
You will:
- Build full understanding of the Material Master Data lifecycle—from creation to decommission—across systems like PDM, IP0/CES, ACT, AC/DC, PIM, Salesforce, etc.
- Investigate, map, and document SAP Material Master Data processes and rules.
- Improve data quality by finding root causes of issues and supporting business questions.
- Coordinate and lead meetings with stakeholders across multiple domains to discuss master data topics or issue resolutions.
- Build a great stakeholder network to understand how divisions and entities use master data.
- Create master data quality reports and metrics together with MDM, Data Analyst, Business and IT teams.
- Drive continuous improvement in master data governance, transparency, and documentation.
- Educate business users on the importance of good master data and risks of bad data.
- Travel occasionally to Stockholm, Sweden or other locations when needed.
To succeed, you will need
- Advanced SAP knowledge, especially SAP Material Master Data. Experience in SAP MDM or data migration is a plus.
- Experience with process modeling (Visio/BPMN) or willingness to learn.
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience in projects or process improvement is a plus.
- Curious, proactive, and eager to understand how data is maintained and used.
- Good understanding of business processes (Product Development, Production, P2P, O2C, Logistics, etc.)
- Positive attitude who thrives in complex and ambiguous environments and take initiatives.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to work across a decentralized organization.
- Collaborative, proactive and driven individual to drive change management needed.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Master Data Management (especially material/production data).
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.

Job location
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our SSC Hub in Prague or Brno, Czech Republic (CZ).
