Your role

As a PTBA Global Trade Compliance Specialist – Classification & Export Control, your mission is to support and improve PTBA’s global product classification and export control framework by ensuring accurate classification, well‑structured processes, and alignment with regulatory requirements. You will report to the PTBA Trade Compliance Manager.
 
 
You will: 
 
  • Contribute to export control and product classification projects, and support related policies and procedures.
  • Help establish and maintain clear processes for accurate customs and export control classification.
  • Represent Trade Compliance in classification‑related projects to ensure consistent implementation across PTBA entities.
  • Follow project timelines and help secure timely delivery of classification activities.
  • Support the introduction of new classification processes, digital improvements, and system enhancements.
  • Contribute to resolving classification challenges and improving workflows together with cross‑functional teams.
  • Help maintain the product classification database and contribute to reliable and consistent data across systems.
  • Monitor updates in global regulations (US EAR/ITAR, EU, and others) and help communicate relevant changes.
  • Review and update classification SOPs and ensure documentation is clear and up to date.
  • Identify opportunities to improve classification processes within customs and export controls.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating audits related to classification activities.

  • You have a bachelor's degree and/ or 3+ years of experience in trade compliance, with knowledge of export controls and product classification.
  • Knowledge of US (ITAR/EAR) and EU export control regulations.
  • Understanding of customs classification rules and related regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience working on process improvements or project‑based work .
  • Attention to detail, a focus on data quality, and a customer‑oriented approach.
  • Communicative and comfortable working in English in an international environment.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our hub in Prague, Czech Republic (CZ).
