Business Controller

Your role
As a Business Controller, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations, steering the organization's accounting functions and empowering strategic financial decisions through precise and timely reporting. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll contribute significantly to our overall success.
We are looking for a Business Controller for our Industrial Assembly Solutions (IAS) Customer Center Mexico, based in Puebla. As our Business Controller, you'll be at the heart of our financial operations, steering the organization's accounting functions and empowering strategic financial decisions through precise and timely reporting. Reporting directly to the Director of Finance & Administration of North America, you'll contribute significantly to our overall success.
Your mission is to guarantee excellent control of all financial aspects of the organization, controlling the budget of our 5 Business Lines (approximate total revenue of 30M USD) by providing strong analytical financial inputs to the local Business Line Managers and General Manager. As a member of the management team, you must lead by example, to develop and support the employees in your team in reaching their full potential. You apply your excellent analytical skills and develop a good relationship with international and local management.
Your day-to-day
- Compliance with "The Way We Do Things" of the Atlas Copco Group for your role as Business Controller.
- Contribute actively to the achievement of organizational targets, being accountable for all financial performance of our Customer Center.
- Elaborate monthly and yearly forecasting reports compliant in both time and quality to the hands of the General Manager and the Director of Finance of North America.
- Lead the financial planning and take ownership of all month-end closings of the Customer Center.
- Ensure the highest control of the balance sheet and P&L, through adequate procedures and processes, training of the finance employees and monitoring of systems.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations in an anticipated/pro-active way to the local management team and the Director of Finance of North America.
- Adopt a mentoring and coaching attitude to develop the competence of all managers in terms of your area of expertise, explaining financial impacts and concepts.
- Develop and lead your own team by example, supporting your individual team members in reaching their full potential.
- Act as legal representative for our Customer Center and take responsibility for tasks related to the administration of our Puebla offices.
- Align procedures with fellow business controllers in Mexico and also with regional controlling departments.
Your skills and experience
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in finance, international finance, controlling, business, accounting or similar.
- Proven leadership skills including a clear vision and ability to achieve results from action plans derived from a solid stragic platform
- Strong SAP knowledge (FICO, WM, MM)
- Strong analytical and financial skills
- Ability to analyze information and deliver innovation, creating new automated standards and processes
- Customer oriented and solution focused attitude
- Strong international collaboration and alignment
- Growth mindset
- Excellent knowledge of English language
- Mastery of international financial reporting standards
- Experience in leading, managing and motivating people, adapting easily to different cultures.
- Working within an international matrix-organization.
- Experience in automotive industry is a plus.
