Role :

Reports to: Business Head – VTBA

As a Business Line Manager, you are accountable for maximizing the value GECIA delivers to General Vacuum divisions by aligning competencies, resources, and execution with each Division’s Engineering Mission. You will reinforce customer and stakeholder trust by driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and technology‑enabled acceleration.

Your role bridges customer insight, product competitiveness, and engineering delivery, ensuring GECIA enables faster, more customer‑centric, more cost‑effective, and more sustainable product development. You will build and develop a competence organization capable of meeting ambitious targets for speed, quality, innovation, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

A. Strategic & Commercial Leadership

- Define and execute the Business Line strategy in alignment with VTBA and General Vacuum Divisions priorities.

- Strengthen the connection between market/customer insights, engineering capabilities, and product competitiveness.

- Translate customer requirements into clear competence development and execution priorities.

- Drive adoption of value‑based engineering to maximize lifecycle cost benefits, customer ROI, and competitive advantage.

- Leverage all available GECIA competencies to provide the best possible solution portfolio for divisional challenges.

- Build and expand competencies required for current and future market growth.

- Bring measurable value to PC/CC/Divisions through high‑quality, high‑impact offerings.

- Lead business lead management and ensure efficient governance of value creation initiatives.

B. Operational Excellence

- Oversee day‑to‑day operations ensuring efficiency, compliance, and high delivery quality.

- Enable simulation-first, digital validation workflows across competence teams.

- Drive systematic waste reduction, standardization of tools, and cycle‑time reduction.

- Collaborate with R&D, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Service to deliver cohesive customer value.

- Track and report KPIs, financial performance, and operational metrics.

- Maintain and improve profitability through effective cost management.

C. Team & Culture

- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing, multidisciplinary competence team.

- Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement, and customer‑centricity.

- Promote strong cross-functional collaboration and knowledge sharing.

- Provide vision, clarity, and support to project management colleagues and technical leaders.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field); MBA is a plus.

- 15–20 years of experience in commercial, engineering, or technical leadership roles.

- Proven track record in business development, P&L management, and customer engagement.

- Experience in matrix organizations and collaboration with global teams is preferred.
