Field Sales Engineer - Rental Division

Your role
We are seeking a highly motivated, result-oriented, and go-getter Senior Sales Engineer to drive the growth of ASR India’s new business models—Subscription Rentals and Performance Rentals—while promoting our new Steam rental business line through Cross pollination. This is an individual contributor role, focused on acquiring new customers, selling (NBM )Subscription and Outcome or Performance based Rental Contracts, and supporting the sustainable development of scalable processes and marketing materials for future regional expansion. This Position reports to the Specialist – Steam and NBM. The territory of responsibility will be Maharashtra and Telangana based out of Pune.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development (80%)
- Proactively identify, approach, and close contracts for Oil-Free Air and Steam rental solutions, focusing on New Business Models “BOOM” – Build Own Operate and Maintain.
- Expand the customer base in Maharashtra and Telangana, guiding customers to higher value offers through professionalized sales processes (Rental Ladder Initiatives).
- Champion Agility and Performance Rentals, educating customers on the value of outcome-linked contracts and driving adoption.
- Support customer segmentation, competitor benchmarking, and market analysis to refine value propositions and product positioning.
- Establish and nurture strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring high standards of service and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with other Atlas Copco divisions to leverage synergies and maximize customer value.
Process & Support (20%)
- Assist in developing and refining sales processes and tools to enable efficient contract management and customer onboarding.
- Contribute to the creation of marketing collateral, presentations, and case studies to support sales efforts and facilitate replication of success in other regions.
- Support internal training initiatives to build team capability in selling new business models.
To succeed, you will need
Experience & Skills Required
- Graduate in Engineering ( Mechnical/ Electrical) MBA preferred
- 8 to 10 years, Minimum 3 years in B2B sales, preferably in industrial rentals, subscription-based services, or performance contracts.
- Understanding of Oil-Free Air compressors, Steam generators, and related utility equipment.
- Proven track record of individual sales achievement, customer acquisition, and contract negotiation.
- Experience in establishing or improving sales processes and supporting marketing initiatives.
- Ability to conduct market analysis, competitor benchmarking, and customer segmentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Maharashtra and Telangana.
