The Role – Service Engineer
As a Service Engineer, you will ensure machines are running efficiently and customers are satisfied with the service delivered. You will work independently across customer sites and at our depots in your assigned region, supported by a strong service team, timely spare parts, and remote technical assistance when required.
This role is hands‑on in nature and involves regular travel, on‑site execution, and direct involvement in maintenance and repair activities on rental equipment.
Mission
To deliver high levels of customer service for SRD India and support business growth. Reporting to the Team Leader – Service, you will be responsible for meeting service targets, ensuring customer satisfaction, and performing hands‑on maintenance and repair activities on rental equipment at customer sites and at our depots.
Job Description – Responsibilities
• Operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of rental fleet at customer sites and depots
• Commissioning, decommissioning, routine, and preventive maintenance of compressors, dryers, gas generators, diesel generators, steam boilers, and ancillary equipment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults through hands‑on execution
• Attend breakdowns promptly and perform services independently
• Document daily work, update work hours and spares consumption in ERP (Wynne), and complete rental check‑out work orders
• Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and service
• Follow safety standards, use PPE, and comply with health and safety regulations
• Promote continuous improvement, digital solutions, and quality processes
• Act as an ambassador of the Atlas Copco Way and support team collaboration
• Perform other duties as assigned, maintaining good housekeeping of the workshop and rental fleet
To succeed, you will need
What we expect of you
• Strong technical understanding and ability to read operation and service manuals
• Ability to understand engineering drawings, electrical diagrams, and P&ID
• Knowledge of compressed air applications; exposure to Nitrogen, Steam, or Temporary Power is an advantage
• Willingness to work hands‑on in the field and at depots
• Valid four‑wheeler driving license
Experience Requirements
3–5 years of service experience on industrial equipment such as air compressors, boosters, air dryers, diesel generators, or steam boilers. Atlas Copco experience is an added advantage.
Educational Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
