Functional Analyst - MES

Your role

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and solution designs with an eye for UI/UX.
• Collaborate with developers, technical leads, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment between design and implementation.
• Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to identify digitalization opportunities.
• Support testing, validation, and deployment of MES features.
• Document functional flows, user stories, and system behavior.

• Contribute to defining a clear product roadmap.

• Act as a bridge between business and technical teams throughout the development lifecycle.

To succeed, you will need

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of experience in functional analysis or solution design for custom MES or similar manufacturing systems & processes.
• Solid understanding of the manufacturing domain and operations systems such as MES, WMS, APS, PLE.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in Agile or project-based environments.
• Familiarity with SAP and SQL is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of Azure.
• Strong understanding of major data management concepts and integration techniques.
• Experience with asynchronous communication (e.g., Apache Kafka) is a plus.
• Understanding of REST APIs and security essentials.
• Understanding of how an MES system integrates within manufacturing operating systems and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of IoT communication protocols such as MQTT and OPC UA.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
• Ability to work independently
• Working team oriented
• Willingness to spend up to 6 months in Belgium for onboarding.
• Comfortable with international travel up to 15%.

Education

• You have degree in IT/Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience in Production IT technology.

You’ll be part of a cross-functional MES product team, working closely with:

• A Technical Lead
• A Roll-out Engineer
• A team of Developers
• Reporting to the Product Owner – Manufacturing
